Cashier at Najec FMCG Limited

NAJEC FMCG Limited is seeking a Cashier to manage daily sales collections and payment transactions while ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, banking, and reporting of all funds received.

The ideal candidate should be highly trustworthy, detail-oriented, numerate, and comfortable working with cash, POS terminals, transfers, and digital sales systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and accurately process cash, POS, transfer, and other customer payments.
• Issue receipts and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
• Verify payments and ensure that all collections are properly accounted for.
• Balance cash and payment records at the end of each business day.
• Prepare daily sales and cash collection reports.
• Identify and promptly report any discrepancies, shortages, or payment issues.
• Safeguard cash, POS terminals, receipts, and other financial documents in their custody.
• Assist with the daily reconciliation of sales and collections.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of payment records.
• Support the Accounts/Finance team with cash and sales-related information when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and customer financial information.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and internal controls relating to cash handling and sales transactions.
• Perform other duties related to the role as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND/HND/BSc in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Cashier, Accounts Assistant, POS Officer, or in a similar role is an advantage.
• Experience in FMCG, retail, wholesale, distribution, or a similar fast-paced environment is preferred.
• Good numerical and basic reconciliation skills.
• Comfortable handling cash, POS terminals, bank transfers, and other payment methods.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity, honesty, and accountability.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet daily deadlines.
