Building & Facilities Maintenance Engineer at iRecruiters Africa Limited

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and supervise the maintenance of the Facility.
• Supervise the maintenance of mechanical, electrical and extra-low voltage equipment and systems.
• Maintain the facilities maintenance schedule, and is . responsible for compliance with PPM, etc
• Responsible to supervise all repair works
• Request and supervise maintenance related repairs.
• Maintain equipment and supplies to ensure safe operation of the facility.
• Ensure all equipment and Assets are properly maintained.
• Review daily work orders and provide reports.
• Review all documentation to ensure proper data collection.
• Lead, train and supervise maintenance Technicians.
• Recommend and implement improvement opportunities within the maintenance space.
• Gather and analyze data, blueprints, and reports.
• Determining facility and equipment specifications.
• Analyze project costs and prepare budgets, working with the Facility Manager.
• Coordinating and overseeing Subcontractors performing maintenance activities.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards and Client’s requirements by Subcontractors.
• Preparing reports and compliance documentation.
• Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods
• Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
• Check spares and new parts and make sure they are fit-for-purpose and once incorporated into equipment will allow the equipment to work correctly.
• Carry out quality inspections on maintenance jobs
• Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
• Keeping a record of preventive and emergency maintenance carried out.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer
• Determined work ethic and must be seen to be professional always (communication and presentation)
• Must be computer literate with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Membership of a certified Professional body (AFE, FMI etc.) is an added advantage.
• Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering occupational hazards and safety standards
• Problem-solving abilities
• Attention to detail
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and management
• Ability to supervise technicians
