    Chief Operating Officer

    Reporting to the NiRA President and Chairman, Establishment & Finance Committee with the primarily responsibilities:

    • Manage all information, communication and technology functions/infrastructure for the association in line with NIRA’s commitment to NiRA Stakeholders, Members, Registrars, Registrants and technical partners
    • Develop and integrate staffing programs designed to attract the highest caliber of talent while satisfying the needs of our clients
    • Collaborate with the NiRA President for corporate growth and evolution
    • Assist the Chairman, Establishment & Finance Committee with financial projections and analyses of existing programs and policies
    • Function as the Secretary to the NiRA Executive Board of Directors
    • Function as the Secretary to the various internal committees within NiRA
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures
    • Manage service employees and train them in the latest leadership and technical skills so they can better serve our clients
    • Helm budgeting and resource allocation efforts alongside the other senior management team
    • Ensure all program initiatives align with the company’s core values and culture
    • Leads and coordinates activities of NiRA Secretariat, providing leadership so that the Secretariat Staff might take more initiative in their roles
    • Providing expertise and support to the organization as regards operations of the NiRA Registry and Association
    • Create and execute procedures that will result in the continual improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Secretariat
    • Training and mentoring the NiRA Secretariat staff
    • Ensure the Association is aligned to global technology standards, particularly ICANN policies and controls

    Qualifications and Attributes

    • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field
    • At least 15 years’ experience in management position within a medium size structured organisation
    • A Master’s degree or MBA would be an added advantage
    • Advanced organizational leadership skills
    • Excellent written, oral and client-facing communication skills
    • Have the ability to read and interpret Financial documents
    • Budget focused mindset
    • Excellent project management and negotiation skills
