    FSL Assistant-Agro

    Job Summary

    The position is based in Monguno, Borno state and directly supervised by the FSL Officer-Agro. The FSL Assistant will support the implementation of FSL activities on agricultural based intervention and cash/asset for work in Borno State to achieve the specific objective of the EU project which is to improve nutrition security of conflict affected populations through uptake of critical household health and hygiene behaviors with the aim of providing primary health care, water, livelihoods sources, sanitation and hygiene services.

    Task and responsibilities

    • Perform agricultural interventions activities at the community level.
    • Work with closely with traditional committees to ensure the identification and selection of beneficiaries and host communities for cash/asset for work and small holders farmers groups at the local government level.
    • Collect information and data on agriculture and community project at field level through surveys, assessments and regular post distribution monitoring of beneficiary households.
    • Collect the required information at the field to facilitate the capacity building and training program.
    • Support the M&E team in analysis of beneficiary data collection through the various tools.
    • Contribute to the development of project community mobilization strategies for targeting and registration of beneficiaries for the agricultural interventions.
    • Implement activities for targeted communities about small holders farming and strengthening community recovery activities with support from key stakeholders at LGA level.
    • Mobilization and awareness raising about the organization, program objectives and activities to local authorities and the population and act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries (at LGA level).

    Position Requirements

    • At least a Diploma in FSL related studies e.g. agro-economy, natural resource management, anthropology, disaster risk management etc.
    • Minimum of one year relevant work experience in INGO.
    • Have previous experience in the Cash, IGA, FSL and extension approach.
    • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
    • Capacity to be adaptable and flexible.
    • Fluency in Hausa and English.
    • Commitment to ACTION AGAINST HUNGER mission, values and policy
