Professor of Geophysics at Obafemi Awolowo University

Qualifications:

• Candidates must hold a Ph.D Degree and possess a minimum of ten (10) years of research and teaching plus experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Persons presently below the rank of professor in a recognized institution of higher learning or Chief Geophysicist in the Oil and Gas Industry need not apply.

Conditions of Service:

• The appointment is subject to the laws of the University and to such conditions governing academic appointments in general.
• The appointment will be made on the maximum approved Federal Government of Nigeria salary scale for a Professor plus a Shell premium.
• The Shell Professor of Geophysic will have close working relationship with SHELL and be entitled to annually funded research programmes, attendance at conferences, and will have a Secretary and two (2) Research Assistants.

Duration:
The professorial appointment to the Chair will be for a period of four years, renewable once, and at the discretion of SHELL NIGERIA. The position takes effect from 1 st April, 2014.
