    Head Teacher

    REQUIREMENTS

    • At least 3 yrs experience as a head teacher;
    • Not more than 40 years of age by 1st September, 2017.
    • A degree in Education ( A Master in Education & TRCN are added advantage);
    • Must be willing to live in/relocate to Sokoto;
    • Must be a computer literate;
    • Must have a biase for Hausa Language;
    • Must be creative with problem solving skills;

    JOB DETAILS

    • Lead collaborative work with the school community to reach expectations as articulated in the School Curriculum; As instructional leader of the school, he or she ensures high levels of scholarship and continuously improves school performance through rigorous instructional and extra-curricular activities;
    • As a pathway to college and career opportunities for students, develop an organizational structure and class schedule that supports academic planning time and daily instructional class visits with opportunity for collaborative debrief;
    • Provide opportunities for significant partnerships that extend and broaden authentic learning for students.
    • Demonstrate high expectations for all students and staff and a commitment to providing the support required to attain them;
    • Ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment for students, staff, and families;
    • Demonstrate cultural competencies and culturally proficient leadership through behaviors and decision-making;
    • Develop and implement a Whole School Improvement Plan that sets the direction for school improvement efforts;
    • Analyze student performance data to inform school improvement efforts and benchmark progress;
    • Design and implement a professional development strategy that addresses instructional improvement priorities defined by student achievement and the individual needs of staff members;
    • Conduct daily classroom observations to analyze instruction and supervise staff to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning;
    • Reduce and ultimately eliminate the achievement gap through classroom interventions, school culture, and programming beyond the school day;
    • Establish a collegial environment that honors and encourages staff's continuous learning;
    • Foster shared leadership through delegation and decision-making;
    • Align the use of time, people, money, and materials to school's instructional priorities;
    • Manage the school, its facilities, and its operations;
    • Cultivate and sustain meaningful partnerships with families and community members that support student achievement and well-being;
    • Engage in continuous learning and on-going professional development with other principal/headmaster colleagues;
    • Strategically organize current and new partnerships that advance career opportunities for students;
    • Review and analyze the school’s data to determine areas of success and areas for development and prepare a strategic plan to address the needs of the school; and
    • Assume additional responsibilities specifically designated by the management;
    • Report directly to the School CEO.
