    Legal Consultant

    Job description
    Imani is a Pan-African legal-solutions company which strives to be the catalyst for change in the African legal landscape by offering our clients all the legal expertise without the overheads.

    We welcome lawyers from all backgrounds, nationalities and pride ourselves on the diversity represented in our pool of lawyers. This allows us to provide our clients with a more dynamic professional offering, with an African focus.

    Who we are looking for?
    We are recruiting African lawyers, as well as foreign qualified lawyers who are seeking to practice in Africa in the following fields:

    • Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions
    • Oil and Gas (Upstream and Downstream)
    • Mining
    • Energy: Renewable and Power
    • Banking and Finance
    • Ohada
    •   General Commercial Services
    • Contracts
    • Labour Law

    You should preferably be an admitted attorney, with a strong academic record, and a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience with a law firm or in the corporate environment. When on assignment, you will be regarded as legal counsel/advisor to the client, and in that way must maintain the utmost confidentiality and professionalism. You are expected to dominate the areas in which you have enlisted, being able to offer accurate legal advice and perform tasks in a self-starting manner, with minimum supervision.

     Where?
    Imani is based in Sandton Johannesburg, however, you will be expected to work remotely or on the clients’ premises. You must be available at least 20 hours a week as well as manage elements of the transactions. This is a demanding but stimulating position which will require working outside of normal office hours or travelling in Africa, when necessary.
