    GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

    Job Description:

    In this capacity, you will play a key role in the Regional Management Team and will be responsible for the long term financial viability of the group. Your key performance areas will be in budgeting, forecasting, strategic review of the organization to determine growth opportunities and reporting of the organization’s annual income and expenditure. You will also be expected to:
     
    • Provide oversight of BU Heads of Finance for strict adherence to financial policies and procedures in all business units and will be accountable for the asset base across the region.
    • Draft proposals on changes to and implementation of approved accounting policies and procedures whilst overseeing adherence to same by BU Heads of Finance
    • Contribute to the achievement of the company objectives and to meet legal responsibilities across jurisdictions by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy
    • Preview all major client contracts/trigger changes for consistency with company financial goals and to minimize risk
    • Oversee all accounting procedures and systems used by the group; monitor financial performance, in particular cash flow, for effective treasury management
    • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the business; develop financial models, and plan for the future, with competitor analyses as a member of the senior management team
    • Work with the Group’s tax advisors and auditors for effective tax planning
    • Work with the Regional Director/CEO Nigeria and other regional senior executives, oversee, present and obtain approval for the annual budget and long range plans
     
    JOB REQUIREMENTS
     
    • Degree-Qualified Accountant with a keen commercial sense. Possession of (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA) will be an  advantage
    • Minimum of 7 years post qualifying experience in both accounting and management with a reputable service organization with a high volume/velocity of financial transactions e.g. leading media advertising agency
    • Excellent analytical, interpretative, budgeting and long range planning skills
    • Good working knowledge of ICT and accounting systems (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Sage Line 50 and Pastel)
    • Hands on working knowledge of how to consolidate BU monthly financial variances into US Dollar profit leak analyses at group level whilst managing transaction and translation exposures across soft currency environments/jurisdictions
    • Ability to implement policy, manage change and recognize cross cultural sensitivities
    • Demonstrable leadership and interpersonal skills
