Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is a Nigerian Non Governmental Organization (NGO). WEWE's goal is to empower communities to access health care, safe water, good nutrition, micro credits for income generating activities and education. WEWE is governed by a board of trustees.
The Main Responsibilities:
To identify new business opportunities for WEWE and follow up with writing concept notes, full proposals and filling application forms for funding to support WEWE’s work on the USAID funded LOPIN 2 project.
Job Duties:
1. Resource Mobilization, New Business, Strategic Planning Development/Proposal Development which will involve the following:
- Search for new business opportunities for WEWE via Fund for NGO website, daily newspapers and other websites.
- Develop a ‘go or no go’ list for funding opportunities that list all possible funding opportunities and make a recommendation of which one WEWE should go for Format CV and resume of potential candidates for proposals.
- Conduct mapping of potential donors and visit them to make further enquires.
- Identify international networks that WEWE needs to register with for membership.
- Develop systems for forecasting opportunities and setting up ‘go or no go’ criteria. The term ‘go or no go’ is used to describe a process of making a decision whether an organization should go for a new business opportunity or not.
- New business brokering (setting up new business meetings with potential partner donors, companies and government agencies),
- Partnership development strategy i.e. identifying potential international and local, technical partners to be sub partner on proposals.
- Identify funding opportunities; on internet, on newspapers and visit with international and local donor.
- Forecast and develop a list of upcoming opportunities that WEWE is eligible to apply for e.g. DFID - Girls Education Initiative
- Track new business opportunities.
- Meet with potential partner organizations to identify and negotiate strategic partnerships.
- Write technical sections of concept notes, proposals and applications for funding.
- As needed, determine and collect costing information.

Please note: WEWE-LOPIN Project will not provide travel allowance to attend an interview. Selected Candidates are expected to be resident within Abuja. WEWE LOPIN 2 Project will also not cover the cost of relocation for the final candidates to move to Abuja.
