Foreman Mechanic at IITA - International Institute of Tropical Agriculture

Duties
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following duties:

• Coordinate daily workshop activities;
• Organize work schedule for all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment;
• Allocate subordinates for servicing, maintenance and replacing of R&A equipment’s;
• Supervise subordinate to ensure jobs are carried out effectively;
• Provide daily information on completed work, work in progress and pending jobs;
• Schedule quarterly preventive maintenance and refrigerating unit;
• Inspect complete work for conformance with specification, requirement and compliance with applicable safety codes and regulations;
• Read and interprete blueprints, pipping, sketches, schematics and writing diagrams;
• Monitor stock key emergency spares applicable to areas of responsibilities;
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification

• B.Sc / HND in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing similar or related roles.

Competencies
The ideal candidate must have:

• Ability to diagnose and rectify fault.
• Be able to work on different kind of mechanical equipment.
