Agronomist at ARMI Nigeria

Responsibilities

• Studying plants and soil in order to develop better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improve crop yield, and solve problems facing the agriculture industry.
• Build capable team under his department
• Must be experienced in vegetables production (both leafy and fruits)
• Must be experienced in commercial cash crop production (Plantain, Cocoa, Oil palm and cashew)
• Organic production of crops will be an added advantage
• Visiting fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples and testing samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
• Preparing the plant selection process and the development of planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.
• Keeping detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples.
• Generating reports and presenting findings to management, clients, or other interested parties.
• Promoting products and techniques through educational presentations.

Requirements
Education:

• B.Sc/Master's Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science or any other directly related field.

Experience:

• 2-4 years working relevant working experience as a Field Agronomist

Skills:

• Applicant must be well rounded in pre- harvest and post-harvest production
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must be single and willing to reside on the farm and be at the office when needs arises
