Junior Accountant at a Telecommunications Company

Description:

The Following tasks are included in the job responsibilities of a Junior Accountant:

Book-Keeping: Daily entry of transactions and financial information into the general ledger, through the accounting software (Sage One).

• Execute up to date Bank Reconciliation and ensure respective authorities adhere strictly to updates
• Attend to specifically assigned Banking Matters from time to time
• Accounts Receivable: Ensure prompt invoicing for projects completed and rentals due
• Execute daily Creditor’s and Supplier’s Reconciliation
• Inventory Counts and reconciliation
• Petty Cash handling
• Updating Director’s account:
• Conduct periodic regular VAT filling
• Prepare and update company exposure statement for internal analysis and utilisation
• Ensure prompt payment of utility bills and basic office running expense cost (diesel, N#PHCN, security bills etc)

Profile

• General book keeping knowledge including Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control, Payroll, VAT Returns and producing basic summary weekly P&L financial snapshots
• Daily use of Sage Accounts and MS Office (excellent excel knowledge)
• Providing comprehensive support to the Managing Director
• Attending meetings to take minutes
• Dealing with customer queries via telephone and email
• Excellent all-round bookkeeping / accounts experience - Essential
