We are looking for a skilled Auto Technician to maintain and repair heavy duty machines and trucks, like caterpillar, Hitachi, komatsu, Volvo and others. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality. 

An excellent auto-technician has good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. They are well-versed in complex mechanical or electronical systems of machines and have excellent problem-solving abilities.

Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining, performing preventive maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum of Trade Test I,II, III or OND in related courses.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The purpose of this job is to render service, Repair and maintenance of construction and mining equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY: Job involves:

• General maintenance.
• Checking, repairing, servicing construction and mining equipment.
• Systems and infrastructures servicing and repairs.
• Coordinating and working with other technical staff whose jobs are related.
• Undertakes scheduled and breakdown maintenance of engineering equipment or plants.
• Contributes to planning and delivery scheduled maintenance
• Responding to breakdowns with stipulated SLAs (service level agreement) maintaining the time given.
• Diagnosing faults
• Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings
• Maintaining statistical and financial records
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
• Contributes to creating maintenance procedures
• Managing stocks of supplies and equipment.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

B.Eng. (minimum of second-class lower result) in Mechanical engineering
A masters in same field will be an added advantage

WORK EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 3 years’ work experience.

SKILLS CRITICAL TO THE ROLE;

• An ability to work well under pressure
• An experience with the use of trucks and construction equipment including wheel loaders, Dump trucks, Excavators and others.
• High Level of discretion.
