Investment Analyst at Welcome2Africa

Under the supervision of the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and the OM (Operations Manager), Welcome2Africa International is seeking an Investment Analyst with 3 years working expense to be responsible for performing research, and analysis on equities, and other capital market instruments in target markets and industries, in order to provide informed research notes, and recommendations to W2A and Clientele/ stakeholder which aids in the investment process, through the application of problem-solving expertise and a broad knowledge of global investment practices and financial  policies with the ability interpret base data an into meaningful recommendations successfully.

Responsibilities:

• Research: Undertake research on various classes of capital market, tech industry and company data, developing research reports and publications, and provide recommendations to support both internal and external as well as conduct primary research from industry sources
• Macroeconomic Analysis: Undertake analysis, and interpretation into the impact of various key environmental drivers such as socio-political factors, market / industry trends, geographic trends. targeting markets, industries, governments regulatory agencies and companies, with the aim of creating bespoke recommendations and predictions for decision-making.
• Financial Modelling: Input data into proprietary financial models, to represent both real-world financial situations, and scenarios to form basis for research notes, and advice to guide the effective decision-making of both internal teams, and external clientele.
• Support Business Development Activities: Actively contribute to research materials for purposes of making sales pitches to both existing and prospective clients, this will be in conjunction with the Business development department.

Other Responsibilities:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry happenings and current events.
• Take responsibility for the coverage of market sectors and regions
• Make regular presentations to internal and external clients
• Perform active surveillance of portfolio of W2A stakeholders to identify trends and make recommendations.
• Researching companies, particularly in terms of their financial functioning
• Analysing company accounts, profit and loss sheets and cash flow information
• Interpreting complicated financial information
• writing financial research summaries
• regularly meeting with company managers, stock market traders, fund managers and stockbrokers
• making informed recommendations
• collating detailed, up-to-date information about the economy and financial markets.

REQUIREMENTS

•  Qualifications in business studies, management, statistics, mathematics, accounting or economics can be particularly helpful, as can an MBA or similar professional qualification. Relevant paid or voluntary experience gained via internships can be beneficial. Language skills may also be useful when working for an employer with international clients.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of cognate experience in similar role.
• Bachelor degree from accredited university.
• MBA or other advanced degree in finance.
• Relevant professional qualifications in finance, and investment management (e.g. CIS, CFA, ACCA).
