    Referent OSV Chief Engineer

    Mission

    • Continuously develop and improve competence of crew on board to ensure highest technical availability of vessels with efficient and cost optimized maintenance process.

    Description and Expected Outcome/Performance Indicators

    • Contribute to develop competence management in Maintenance and Safe performance:
      • Scheduling Vessels Technical Survey/Visit offshore and in port  and ensuring yearly achievement
      • Training crew on board for procedures, conduct training on board
    • TA full implementation
    • Supervise vessel maintenance and Safety on board by conducting VTI and tech visit
    • Assist Ch. Engineers with Operations where applicable for 
    • Investigate Incident & tech breakdown on board
    • Assist crew with Spare Parts Management
    • Develop and organize a best practice maintenance manual according to specific system of the vessel
    • Conduct appraisals of Technical Officers during onshore period

    KPIs:

    • Number of visits by Tech team as per Annual plan (min 2 x vessel visit offshore per year)
    • SDF completed as per SMS and identified list for training needs
    • Number of external audit findings related to TECH process
    • Annual appraisal and review for tech team on board
    • VTI reports as per plan
    • e-learning completed by tech team on board
    • Quality based Investigation of tech incident and tech breakdown
    • Develop and organize a best practice maintenance manual according to specific system of the vessel
    • Conduct appraisals of Technical Officers during onshore period
    • Assist with crew briefings      

    Line Reporting and Functional Linkage:

    • Reports to Technical Manager and interfaces with Tech Superintendants , Masters , CE's and crew , HR , HSE

    Requirements
    Education:

    • Relevant seafarers qualifications.

    Experience:

    • 5 years as CE onboard OSV Vessels

    Key Skills:

    • Ability to transfer skills to others

    Behavior:

    • Good interpersonal skills, negotiation, training and facilitation, HR development, Performance development, stress management

    Languages:

    • English

    Computer Knowledge:

    • Microsoft office package and Task Assistant

    Contract:

    • Rotational position - Flexible 3m on/1m off - majority of time spent offshore between various vessels
