    Field Coordinator

    Location: Borno (Selected LGAs)
    Contract Type: 4 Month Fixed Terms

    Project Summary
    The UNFPA Integrated Reproductive Health & Mentoring activity is a 6-month intervention implemented by FHI 360 and Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) in Borno and Benue states. The overall goal of the activity is to meet the most urgent reproductive health (RH) and mentoring needs of 285,000 conflict affected underserved adolescents, youth and women through gender sensitive, rights-based approaches within host and reclaimed communities and IDP camps in north-east (Borno) and north central Nigeria (Benue).

    Responsibilities

    • Field Coordinator will support accurate documentation of all activities in target communities in intervention states, conducting routine monitoring visits to mobile/outreach & facilities including the conduct of on the spot quality checks of documentation & daily aggregation, assist in the preparation of daily, weekly & monthly reports, and provide supportive supervision to the DSO5 & LGA operating teams on M&E activities.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • MB.BS/MD/B.Sc, or similar degree with 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in clinical and community- based care with a sound understanding of RMNCH programmes in resource constrained settings;
    • Preferred work experience in conflict affected states in north-east Nigeria;
    • Fluency in English, strong writing and presentation skills. Proficiency in local dialect and Hausa language is required.
    • Strong communication (particularly community entry skills) to collaborate with community leaders, state governments and local NGOs;
    • Sensitivity’to socio-cultural context in communities in Borno state;
    • Strong reporting, monitoring, evaluation and work plan management skills;
    • Willingness to travel up to 80% time;
    • Experience with integration of RH/HIV and Maternal Health services, and continuous quality improvement;
    • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding RMNCH in assigned areas;
    • Experience leading a diverse team of health professionals.
