    Community Health Extension Worker - CHEW

    Contract Type: 4 Month Fixed Terms

    Project Summary
    The UNFPA Integrated Reproductive Health & Mentoring activity is a 6-month intervention implemented by FHI 360 and Achieving Health Nigeria Initiative (AHNi) in Borno and Benue states. The overall goal of the activity is to meet the most urgent reproductive health (RH) and mentoring needs of 285,000 conflict affected underserved adolescents, youth and women through gender sensitive, rights-based approaches within host and reclaimed communities and IDP camps in north-east (Borno) and north central Nigeria (Benue).

    Responsibilities

    • Community Health Extension Workers - CHEW will deliver quality integrated reproductive health, services in target communities and facilities through mobile outreaches in communities and facilities and documentation of all activities in target communities in intervention states.

    Minimum Recruitment Standards

    • Registered CHEW with a minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience.
    • Possess appropriate certification in nationally approved training packages for Family Planning, Emergency Obstetric Care and other Sexual and Reproductive Health Packages
    • Fluency in written and spoken English, proficiency in local dialect and Hausa language is required.
    • Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, subcontractors, consultants and recipients of assistance.
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, excel, power point and Outlook at minimum
