Are you between 18 and 30 years old and you don’t have a job yet? You fit the requirements for participating in the Unemployee of the Year contest! Find out what it’s about and how it works.
TAKE PART IN THE CONTEST WHAT IS IT?
UNEMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR is a contest created by United Colors of Benetton for young people all over the world.
UNEMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR will award 100 projects proposed and voted by the web.
UNEMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR is an initiative promoted by the UNHATE Foundation: it aims to spread a positive message of hope and celebrate young people’s ingenuity, creativity, and their ability to create new smart ways of addressing the problem of unemployment.
HOW CAN I TAKE PART?
If you are between 18 and 30 years old – and you don’t have a job yet – you can send your project in areas ranging from art to communication, from socially to environmentally conscious.
You could also consider the creation of employment opportunities for others and the creation of aggregation spaces in the world, both online and offline.
Entering your project is easy: if you don’t have one, create your own Facebook profile and upload your proposal on this website; agree to the contest rules and fill out the online forms. WHO WINS?
The projects will be voted and selected by the UNHATE Foundation community from September 18, 2012 to October 14, 2012.
The 100 projects with the most votes will each receive € 5000 funding from the UNHATE Foundation.
The official list of winners will be published no later than October 31, 2012.
The scheme was created as part of the activities of the UNHATE Foundation, following the success of the Foundations’ launch campaign in November 2011.
The scheme is aimed at individuals and the community and seeks to focus public opinion on the changing work environment facing young people on a global scale.
The scheme was launched by a worldwide campaign portraying young people described as NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and promoting a competition to encourage 100 of these young people (aged under 30) through offers to finance the realisation of those of their personal projects – that reflect the philosophy and fundamental values of the UNHATE Foundation.
The scheme pursues no commercial ends and will be conducted in the spirit of Article 6 of Presidential Decree 430/2001. The prize awarded to the winner will acknowledge personal merit and encourage services to the community.
