    MAIN DUTIES
     
    * Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
    * Participate in applicable Safety Subcommittees, EM Project Safety Committee,   Project Safety Steering Teams and various NPO SHE Networks
    * Provide Supervision, coaching, and mentoring to function and project assigned employees (frequent interface, career planning).  Administer contractors within area of responsibility (monitor performance)
    * Develop and execute training plan for all NPO employees and contractors
    * Support Safety Advocacy Plans for NPO contractors
    * Participate in risk assessment and constructability reviews in NPO project teams
    * Ensure functional deliverables such as tool development, tool maintenance, and general interest program deliverables are achieved per schedule
    * Lead or support the development of EMCAPS/OIMS  and SSHE deliverables in area of responsibility
    * Support incident investigation, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine Root causes, recommend mitigation measures, and manage return-to-work activities
    * Advise on improvements on Contractor Safety Management efforts
    * Provide oversight and direction to the project teams in accordance with the EM policies and procedures.
    * Conduct periodic site assessments and evaluate Safety Performance on all NPO projects
    * Participate in ITT review and bid evaluation
     
    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES
     
    * University degree in Engineering or the Sciences and  technical  certification (e.g., CSP, PE, NEBOSH)
    * Broad technical and SSH&E skills with working knowledge of project management and operations
    * 25+ years broad-based experience, with prior experience in SSH&E-related disciplines
    * Thorough knowledge of Safety standards, codes, and practices.
    * Strong, dynamic leadership skills.
    * Maintains a high degree of ethical conduct.
    * Must be able to effectively communicate / influence multiple levels, from Senior Level Manager to Worker. 
    * Ability to work in harsh environments, and / or stressful situations, with changing priorities.
    * Willingness to travel / live away from home for extended time periods.
    * Proficient in primary Microsoft Office programs, Lotus Notes, etc.
    * Proven management and leadership skills
    * Knowledge of NPO strategies and key business drivers

    MAIN DUTIES
    -Provides direct and specific design engineering support in the Pipeline Engineering area to assigned project teams within the Nigerian Project Organization.  Performs the assigned technical tasks in a format agreed upon between the Project Manager (PM) and the Design Engineering Services Manager (DESM).  Ensures that the tasks can be completed within the framework of EMCAPs and within an agreed timeframe.  Identifies, defines, and performs the assigned tasks, including finalizing pre-requisite tasks or information.  Updates and reports the progress of deliverables to the PM and DESM on a regular basis.
    -Coordinates / oversees design contractor activities in the Pipeline discipline area for assigned projects.
    -Continually assesses refinements/changes and recommends updates for the maintenance of specifications and standards used in the Nigerian Projects Organization including the Global Practices (GP) and Global Practice Supplements (GPS), Design Management Manual (DMM) and the Design Execution References (DER).  Responsible for coordinating reviews, endorsement and final approval for changes to these specifications and guidelines using Projects' MoC procedures.
    -Ensures that all relevant aspects of the quality assurance and control (QA/QC) programs and procedures are strictly followed in the performance of all work.  Ensures the integration of the requirements of the Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) in all work, tasks or deliverables.
    -Follows and implements the established project objectives and strategies in all work. This includes maintaining MPN production at established levels as well as providing safe, economic, and efficient proposals to enhance hydrocarbon recovery or to increase associated facility integrity.
    -Performs ad hoc medium and long term technical design engineering studies aimed at improving project engineering effectiveness, including risk, constructability, design and execution assessments.
    -Provides continual interface with external departments, especially Loss Prevention, Development Planning, Facilities Engineering, Facilities Operations Technical Engineering and all core JV Operations groups.
    -When assigned the role of Lead Design Engineer (LDE) for a specific design engineering services Work Order, represents MPN, coordinates design activities and interfaces with Project Engineer (PE) to align design work with project objectives. 
     
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
     
    -Holds a recognized technical degree at a B.S. level.
    -Exhibits strength in Mechanical, Subsea and Pipeline or equivalent  engineering area
    -5+ years' experience with Pipeline system design, fabrication and installation
    -Previous experience with contract coordination and Project Engineering
    -Fluency in written and spoken English.

    -Work with company and contractor's site management and Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) organizations to implement the project and site safety programs
    - Advise site team (company, contractor, and subcontractors) of company, contractor, and local authorities' safety requirements, regulations, expectations, and best practices
    - Coach and advise contractor and subcontractors to establish, communicate, and implement safety expectations and initiatives; monitor and stimulate execution with contractor's safety policy, rules, and procedures; and monitor conformance with project and site safety execution plans and implement improvements where appropriate
    - Collect and analyze data on safety initiatives and performance for reporting to project and functional management
    - Identify and assist with prioritization of opportunities for site safety process improvements
    - Promote safety awareness and safe performance among project team members, including consultants and contractor personnel
    - Conduct regular safety inspections/assessments on-site and at key off-site subcontractor locations in accordance with established project and site safety plans or as requested by site team members
    - Conduct scaffolding inspections.
    - Identify and work to eliminate hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts; work with company, contractor, and subcontractor management toward achieving an injury-free work place
    - Keep site management apprised of significant safety issues and plans/progress towards resolving issues and eliminating hazards
     
    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    - Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field is preferred + NEBOSH IGC or CSP
    - 4-8 years in Construction Safety-related positions (Prefer previous experience with ESSO, Exxon,   Mobil, or ExxonMobil).
    - Certified for scaffolding inspection.
    - Thorough knowledge of Safety standards, codes and practices
    - Ability to function in an integrated project team environment
    - Practical Safety judgment
    - Ability to work in harsh environments, in stressful situations, with ever changing priorities
    - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Lotus Notes, etc.

    Job Description:
    The Project Health Advisors duty is to protect the health and well-being of workers through the evaluation, assessment, and control of potential chemical, physical, and microbiological health hazards present at project sites. 
    The Project Health Advisor's primary roles are to review / assess EPC contractor implementation of health plans and programs at project work sites and ensure the alignment of Project and MPN health programs and resources. 
    * Works with EPC contractors to implement health programs of mutual benefit to Company and contract employees, including Public health control programs.
    * Conducts health inspections of Project work sites, residences, medical clinics
    * Tracks health recommendations to closure with monthly reporting to NPO SHE-Q Manager, MPN Medical Director, and Project management. 
    * MCP/MCCP
     
         + Reviews contractor's MCP Program at start of project for Consistency with ExxonMobil requirements
         + Ensures registration of site contractors with ISOS for MCCP and  Monthly stewardship update
         + Periodically reviews contractor PMP for practice consistent with ExxonMobil, especially in the area of Malaria diagnosis and  Treatment.
         + Ensures notification of MPN for reporting of Occupational illnesses  and injuries, including Malaria in the non-immune 
     
    * Ensures registration of contractor with ISOS for MCCP and updating of the Person On Board (POB) list (monthly)
    * Conducts IH related exposure monitoring on project sites (Monitoring may include noise, hydrocarbon and other chemical, physical and biological agents)
     
    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
    • Experienced individual with knowledge of EM Nigeria business and must be familiar with MPN medical structure and programs.
    • Ideally, individual with broad technical skills.
