    The Kano State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association (here in referred to as IDA) towards the implementation of Third National Fadama Development Project (FADAMA III). Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates within and outside the civil service to fill the existing vacancy in the state Fadama coordination office.

    State Project Coordinator

    Overall function of the position
    The state project coordinator (SPC) is responsible for the coordination of project activities in the state, as well as managing the State Fadama coordination office (SFCO) within the Agricultural Development Project (ADP) of the state Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
     
    Specific Duties of the Position:
    1. Responsible for overall implementation of the project in the state
    2. Head the secretariat of the state Fadama Technical Committee (SFTC)
    3. Supervise all staff of the SFCO
    4. Liaise with other relevant programmes and technical departments in state
    5. Oversees contracting staff and consultants, particularly community facilitators
    6. Supervises and coordinates activities of the local desks and
    7. Ensures timely reporting and quality of report to SFTC and National Fadama Coordinating Office (NFCO)
     
    Qualifications required
    a) Master’s level or higher degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Economics, Business Management or other relevant degree
    b) Minimum of eight years post qualification experience, including at least three years in management position
    c) Proven track record in the field of Agriculture or rural development
    d) Good writing skills and computer literacy will be an added advantage
    e) Fluency in local language is a major advantage
