    vArchitect

    vArchitect
    vArchitect provides technical expertise in support of pre-sales activities in the assigned market. They gather requirements, perform analysis, and design fully integrated technology solutions. Technical emphasis is on converged infrastructure platforms including virtualization, compute, network, storage, management, orchestration, and application requirements. vArchitects are required to make technical and sales presentations to customer’s business decision makers and technical staff with assistance and leadership from the vAM (vAccount Manager). They must be able to understand EMC/CISCO/VMware and/or competitive technology and business applications within the assigned market. Knowledge of ITIL and Service Management, along with Orchestration is preferred. Applications and knowledge of their effect on IT are highly desired. They assist the vAM in sales campaigns by developing technical responses to customer requests and proposals.

    Responsibilities:

    • Define solutions with VCE sales team to support customer business requirements and future strategies
    • Leverage knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections to VCE solutions, and train the account and partner teams
    • Establish relationships with the VCE parent account teams, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives and engage and leverage corporate resources, abilities, budgets and personnel as appropriate
    • Executes technical sales calls
    • Configures and documents VCE software, hardware and service solutions to meet customer and sales objectives
    • Completes required presales documentation quickly and accurately
    • Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding
    • Presents and markets the design and value of proposed VCE solution and business case to customers, prospects and VCE management
    • Possesses detailed product/technology/industry knowledge. Knowledge of job associated software and applications.
    • EMC Proven Professional Certification and/or VMware Certified Professional and/or Cisco Data Centre Unified Computing Design Specialist desired.

    Solutions Architect - Networking

    The VCE Solution Architect (Networking) is responsible for the installation, configuration, and integration of Vblock systems. This is a customer facing role, also responsible for customer low level configuration workshops, factory logical configuration, and installation and configuration of additional products and components with Vblock systems

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct Logical Configuration Survey calls with clients as part of the PST Team (Preparation Services Team)
    • Installation of Vblock systems on-site at customer locations
    • Configuration of Vblock networking components, including but not limited to Cisco Nexus 5k,
    Nexus 7K, Nexus 1000V, 3750, 3560, and UCS.
    • Integration of Vblock networking components into customer environments
    • Comprehensive backup and testing of all installed Vblock components
    • In-depth Knowledge Transfer of Vblock Systems to customers
    • Hardware, software and firmware upgrades of Vblock systems and components
    • Preparation and completion of required pre and post deployment documentation
    • Mentoring of VCE partners in Vblock technology and deployment
    • Implementing, administrating and troubleshooting common TCP/IP based services, including NTP, DNS, SSL, SSH, services, etc.
    • Sales or pre-sales support and qualification

    Qualifications:

    • Cisco CCNA/CCNP
    • 3-5 years industry experience: install, configure, support
    • experience / knowledge of Nexus product ranges
    • Cisco UCS
    • Strong focus on Cisco Networking products and protocols
    • Strong problem solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Professional, dependable, and flexible team player.
    • Must work well under pressure
    • Experienced in management of vendors for hardware and software support and warranties.
    • Have the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
    • Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.
    • Ability to work effectively with senior management.
    • Mentoring/Coaching skills
    • Understanding of ITIL foundations
