JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Perform phlebotomy with minimum supervision
• Organize and prioritize workload
• Manage laboratory inventory
• Perform bodily fluids testing e.g. urinalysis, total WBC count, blood grouping
• Maintain safe environment
• Maintain confidentiality of all patients and test results

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
• A diploma or its equivalent in Medical Laboratory Technician certificate
• A minimum of 5 years post qualification work experience
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Collect and identify appropriate samples
• Operate sophisticated laboratory equipment such as microscopes and cell counters
• Log data from medical tests and enter results into a patient’s medical records
• Determines calculated results, utilizing testing date by means of manual or computerized procedures
• Perform test calibrations and run quality control materials at appropriate intervals
• Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids, such as blood and urine, using microscope or automatic analyzer to detect abnormalities or diseases, and enter findings into computer.
• Set up, adjust, maintain and clean medical laboratory equipment.
• Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications, using special mechanical and electrical devices.
• Analyze and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs and narratives.
• Perform medical research to further control and cure disease.
• Obtain specimens, cultivating, isolating and identifying microorganisms for analysis.
• Examine cells stained with dye to locate abnormalities.
• Collect blood or tissue samples from patients, observing principles of asepsis to obtain blood sample.
• Consult with a pathologist to determine a final diagnosis when abnormal cells are found.
• Inoculate fertilized eggs, broths, or other bacteriological media with organisms.
• Cut, stain and mount tissue samples for examination by pathologists.
• Supervise and instruct other technicians and laboratory assistants.
• Prepare standard volumetric solutions and reagents to be combined with samples, following standardized formulas or experimental procedures.

• Knowledge of tissue culture procedures and techniques.

• Ability to perform a range of clinical lab tests, chemical analyses, and biological samples.

• A good degree in Medical Laboratory Science
• A higher qualification would be an advantage
• A minimum of 2 years cumulative work experience in medical service delivery, of which 1 years should be in a hospital setting

• Membership of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria is mandatory for both categories.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Arrange drugs received from drugs store in the dispensary store
• Monitor stocks of medicines to other units and keep them topped-up.
• Repack drugs for dispensing.
• To compound products such as creams ointments and mixtures from raw ingredients and Prepare compounding utensils.
• Request drugs from Pharmacy store to the Pharmacy
• Deliver requisition to various units - Nursing, Physiotherapy, O & G, Ophthalmology Clinics e.t.c
• Involved in the compounding, dispensing and safe administration of medicines.
CORE SKILLS:
• Must have basic skills in drug dispensing
• Basic IT knowledge.
• Must be willing to work on shifts and weekend duties.
