    • Purpose: Provide assistance and information to passengers, and to act with courtesy and discretion, and to bring the passengers safely to their destination. Team work
    • External:Visitors to UNAIDS    Provide assistance and information to passengers, and to act with courtesy and discretion, and provide informal translation (conversations) as necessary.
    • Purpose:Supplies/Contractors    As related to official vehicle maintenance and service.
    • Customs officials    To give and obtain information as related to visitor’s visa and goods

    EDUCATION

    • Essential: Secondary education. Must have a valid and clean driver’s license.
    • Desirable: Training or demonstrated knowledge of vehicle mechanic.

    EXPERIENCE

    • Essential: A minimum of one to two years’ experience as driver of officials in an international institution, governmental organization, embassy or UN system with an excellent knowledge of the local traffic rules, regulations and geography.

    LANGUAGES

    • Essential: A good knowledge of the official language of the duty station together with that of the local language (where the local language is not an official language).
    • Desirable: Knowledge of another UN official language.

    FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the national driving rules and regulations, of local roads and conditions, as well as chauffeur protocol and courtesies.
    • Skills in minor repairs together with basic skills in the use of office equipment (e.g. photocopiers)
