    Field Routine Engineer
    Department: Network Group
    Location: Lagos

    Job Description:
        •Perform routine O&PM procedures as prescribed for Radio (2G and 3G), transmission links and Powers systems, checks on site infrastructure and any other equipment and resolve all faults  on Power, BTS, NodeB and Transmission links
        •Perform radio and transmission antenna systems  integrity test (connectors, earthing, waterproofing, supporting arm, clamps etc) Structural Test, Inventories, Power supply and Antenna Test
        •Monitor and rectify all environmental, radio, transmission, and internal alarm triggers
        •Compile information and report on the availability of the transmission network in line with the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
        •Validate antenna orientations and corrections if required
        •Ensure routine maintenance documentation is completed and stored in the site file and soft copy on the k-drive.
        •Ensure security and network Integrity documentation is completed and adhered to.
        •Maintain a comprehensive set of records of all transmission links, BTS sites, power equipment and spares for all sites within designated area
        •Complete checklists and timesheets on maintenance procedures and maintain records of schedule maintenance procedures
         
    Job Conditions:                
    Tool of trade vehicle provided Normal MTNN working conditions. National travel and a valid drivers license. On standby 24/7 throughout the year. Overtime and the performance of call out duties are essential. Driving in high-risk areas and travelling high mileages is mandatory. Working at elevated heights and in extreme environmental conditions is a requirement. The use of safety climbing equipment while working at elevated heights is compulsory

    Required Skills:
        •B.Sc Electrical/Electronics (Telecommunications)/Mechanical Engineering
        •4 years RF & BTS, transmission and electrical experience with a GSM or Wireless Telecomm operator which includes:
        •2 years experience in  implementation and maintenance of power and cooling systems preferably in the telecommunications industry
        •Experience in transmission and radio planning and  climbing towers is desirable
        •Radio frequency propagation and radio/Micro Wave equipment installation and or maintenance.

    RF Optimization Manager
    Department: Network Group
    Location: Lagos

    Job Description:
        •Ensure radio network quality and performance consistently achieves the KPIs and quality targets as defined in NWG Annual Operating Plan.
        •Implement and monitor processes and procedures to ensure conformance to best practices and to identify opportunities for improvements
        •Ensure that adequate proactive monitoring, analysis and tuning of the network is being done by the regional RF Optimization Teams
        •Approve regional BSS & RAN optimization works through change management system.
        •Review and report consistently on regional radio access network optimization trends, performance issues and root causes.
        •Ensure adequate tools and resources are available for optimization activities in regions of primary responsibility
        •Ensure that proper documentation of RF projects, and procedures are provided and effectively communicated across regions of responsibility
        •Ensure/maintain 100% accurate and thorough knowledge/database records of the regional network, its configuration and performance history at all times
        •Ensure that adequate knowledge of competitor’s quality, performance and competitive initiatives is maintained & matched
        •Provision of technical support to other units/department regarding the network and radio related problems
         
    Job Conditions: General MTN N working conditions. A valid drivers license. Additional working time is usually required on a need basis.

    Reporting To:     Senior Manager,Access Optimization
         
    Required Skills:
        •B.Sc. in Electrical/ Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering
        •MSC in Telecoms or equivalent would be an advantage
        •At least 8 years working experience comprising
        •Minimum of five (5) years’ extensive RF Planning and Optimization experience within a dynamic telecommunications environment
        •Three (3) years managerial experience with a telecommunications operator or Network Consultancy firm
        •Experience of working on a multivendor network
        •Experience with Ericsson and Huawei equipment will be desirable
