    MS Chief Operating Officer

    The MSCOO runs the company or services division which has end to end responsibility to supply all managed services to the customer. This includes services provided by third party suppliers and by Ericsson local, regional or global delivery centres. The MSCOO ensures the fulfilment of all contractual obligations by Ericsson, the customer and third Parties in order to secure quality of service and profitability according to approved business case and contract criteria.

    The MSCOO is responsible to transform the received organisation in line with Ericsson Blueprint guidelines. The Transformation is essential to reduce costs and make the MS profitable in line with the approved business case.

    The Transformation involves:
    • Creating internal efficiencies in operations through the deployment of Ericsson best practice tools and processes;
    • Realising synergies by moving certain functions being to other local MU Delivery Organisations or to Regional or Global Delivery Operations;
    • Reducing third party spend through the renegotiation of supply contracts using Ericsson’s Global scale advantages.
    On completion of the transformation process, the MSCOO will have a much smaller line organisation but will retain the end to end responsibility for the full scope of the Managed Services provided; and will still manage the complete interface to the customer. However many of the services provided will now be effectively sourced from other Ericsson delivery centres or from third parties.

    Responsibilities:

    •     To run the services branch containing the hundreds or thousands resources in-sourced from the customer.
    •     To be end-to-end responsible for all service contracts for the specific customer and manage the contracts execution (cost, time and quality) ensuring the fulfillment of all contractual obligations by Ericsson, the Customer and 3PP, in order to secure quality of service and profitability.
    •     To effectively manage a significant portfolio of 3rd party supply contracts, driving down costs for both Ericsson and the customer in line with business case expectations
    •     To manage the Relationship Management with the customer and therefore to act as the main interface for all service delivery towards the customer (internally and externally).
    •     To secure that escalation management in emergencies or critical incidents (or other emergencies as specified in SLA) are followed and updating and reporting incidents progress to the customer is in accordance to contractual requirements.

    Required Education and Experience:
    • Academic degree in some aspect of Telecommunications and/or Business Management
    • Minimum 15 - 20 years experience in a combination of Technical & Operational Management, Financial & Business Management, Customer Relationship and Business Development Experience, and Leadership and Change Management Experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver P&L results successfully in a major services division or company, and ability to drive business development
    • Leadership experience with large line organizations and leadership of change management programs

    MS Chief Operating Officer MTN IN

    The purpose of the role MSCOO is to manage activities carried out within Managed Services contract for one of our key clients. This involves presales support, management of staff, ensuring that services are delivered according to agreed contracts (follow-up on set KPIs), involvement (or responsibility) in budget activities and working on improving the organisational efficiency, processes and methods within the relevant area.

    The activities are carried out within the Managed Services Telecom Operations Practice (MS TOP) area.

    Responsibilities
    The MSCOO works within the overall MSIP organization with a delegated set of responsibilities for the geography they are accountable.

    The MSCOO responsible for full scope of Managed Services (where applicable) contract fulfilment, including:

    1.     Overall Operations - Operations Assurance
    2.     Overall Network Operations Centre – NOC Manager, including Front Office and Back Office Operations Support
    3.     Field Operations
    4.     Ensure GSC support
    •     These functions will initially reside within the line organization of the MSCOO until transformation to RSSA and GSC/RNOC delivery units according to the Transformation Plan. After transformation, the MSCOO still maintains full accountability for the success of the service delivery.
    •     The MSCOO responsible and a driver/facilitator for improvements within the relevant Managed Services organisation and must take responsibility for any changes introduced to the organisation, processes and methods that may have an effect on the supplied service quality with respect of meeting contracted scope (including quality).
    •     Some duties of the blueprint MSCOO role will be centralized within the MSIP organization (eg: common reporting, quality auditing).
    •     The MSCOO has the authority to act on relevant problems and to decide on what procedures and routines that shall be invoked to ensure that quality problems are corrected according to prevailing requirements.
    •     The MSCOO has the authority to specify improvement proposal for operative performance and to escalate within the department / group as well as to system support units / supplier partner functions so that operative performance may be maintained at specified level.

    Required Education and Experience

    •     University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication, Business Administration or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
    •     Having at least 10 years’ experience on network operations, planning or engineering.
    •     At least 3 years of experience from Customer Services within the Telecom industry
    •     Demonstrated ability to deliver P&L results successfully in a major services division or company, and ability to drive business development
    •     Proven Business awareness and successful customer relation experience
    •     Has work experience as a CTO from an operator.

    Mobile Financial: Services Business Growth & Activation Manager

    Role and Responsibilities:

    •     Provide professional input and advice to customer team in developing Mobile Money market / country strategy and proposition and marketing plans
    •     Ideas generation, concept validation, and business case for new opportunities and service enhancements
    •     Create a service roadmap and implementation plan on a quarterly basis resulting in effective subscriber uptake and service usage
    •     Manage product launch of all new propositions, products and services, ensuring effective implementation , uptake of services among target segments and hand-over to local customer proposition management team
    •     Develop Transaction volume forecast for each market and service type on quarterly basis. Advise Ericsson’s customers on strategies to deliver transaction volume targets
    •     Establish a successful network of ecosystem partners for targeted markets
    •     Engage in business negotiations with potential and existing ecosystem partners to ensure positive outcome
    •     Measure and support in improving overall MFS subscriber experience and benchmark v/s competition
    •     Act as key subject matter expertise to support Ericsson sales functions as part of pre-sales process for upsell on the mobile money platform
    •     Sharing customer and market information with the Ericsson Product Management, Business Development, Finance and Technical teams in order to improve the service features and positioning

    We are looking for:

    •     7+ years of relevant professional experience of which at least 5 years in a B2C marketing or Sales within the areas of mobile payments, money transfer, mobile money, and pre-paid cards
    •     Very good experience and understanding of mobile commerce eco-system, preferably  from transactional services or business operations for a major MFS service provider in Africa
    •     Relevant experience from working in the CMO and product organization of a telecoms or consumers services provider in Africa
    •     Experience in a business to business sales and partnering environment, and evidence of driving successful projects within mobile commerce at an international level
    •     Strong track record in engaging at C-level and closing contracts, demonstrated ability to translate value propositions that secure winning propositions
    •     Entrepreneurial in nature and have the ability to recognize and create new business opportunities
