    Vice Chancellor

    Job Description

    • The Vice Chancellor serves as the Chief Academic Administrator for overseeing the overall management and strategic direction of the University.
    • The Office collaborates with various Departments, Faculties and stakeholders to enhance academic programmes, research initiatives and institutional goals.
    • The Vice Chancellor plays a crucial role in fund-raising, building partnerships and representing the University in both national and international fora.
    • Additionally, the Vice Chancellor shall work closely with the Chancellor, Governing Bodies and other key stakeholders to ensure the University's continued growth and success.
    • Strong leadership, academic vision and effective communication skills are essential to process as a Vice Chancellor.

    Qualities and Qualifications

    • University Professor with PhD.
    • Must have a minimum of 15 years continuous service in a University.
    • High academic standing and reputation.
    • Must have a good understanding of the vision and mission of the University.
    • Must have not been more than 65 years of age as at the date of assumption of duty.
    • Extensive experience in University Administration.
    • Ability to command respect and loyalty from staff and students.
    • Morally sound with impeccable probity and integrity.
    • Experience as a Dean or Director while experience as a Deputy Vice Chancellor will be an added advantage.
    • Membership of learned societies and honors/fellowship.

    Conditions of Service

    • The remuneration and other conditions of service are as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council.
    • The successful applicant shall hold office for a single tenure of five (5) years.

    University Librarian

    Job Description

    • The University Librarian shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the overall administration of the University Library, its branches and extension and for providing library services to the entire University community.
    • The University Librarian is a principal officer and is the head of the University Library.
    • The applicant for the post shall be visionary and have the ability to provide good leadership.
    • He/She must possess personal integrity and leadership transparency in private and public life, as well as being able to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the University.

    Qualities and Qualifications
    Applicant for this post:

    • Must be professionally qualified and be a practicing Librarian;
    • Must possess a Doctorate Degree in Library Science / Library and Information Science from a recognized University.
    • The applicant must have a minimum of thirteen (13) years cognate experience, ten of which must be unbroken service in the University
    • Must have attained the rank of Senior Librarian in a University;
    • Must have contributed to knowledge through research and publication in reputable journals:
    • Must be a registered member of the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN); and
    • Must have demonstrable competency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

    Conditions of Service

    • The remuneration and other conditions of service are as may be determined from time to time by the Governing Council.
    • The successful applicant shall hold office for five (5) years as determined by the Council.
    • The applicant shall not be more than Sixty (60) years at the time of assumption of duty.
