    Operations Lead Agent

    Job Purpose

    • Lead the activities of the Hub Sort operations by coordinating the processes of all inbound, outbound and transfer shipments within the Hub as well as the handling of Transit materials, to the effective performance of all DHL operations in Central & West Africa. To provide a safe and secure working environment. To ensure that daily operational productivity, quality, and cost targets are met, and standard procedure are followed. Provides leadership and motivation to staff and to monitor their productivity, development, and satisfaction.Key responsibilities
    • Ensure that all shipment is made visible in the network through the creation of appropriate checkpoint codes.
    • Ensure that customers expectations on DHL services are met through prompt shipment transfer to their respective destinations.
    • Maintain a day to day contact with Ramp Team by ensuring timely transfer of materials for loading as well as prompt departure of flights to their respective destinations.
    • Maintain daily contact with NCG Team to ensure that all relevant checkpoints are captured on all shipments for proper closure of the flights and for visibility before departing the Hub.
    • Day to day contact with Security Team in order to ensure that shipments and other assets are safeguarded.
    • Ensure that daily operational targets are met and take actions to reverse identified areas of underperformance.
    • Ensure compliance to regional and country processes policies and procedure and any local external regulation requirements, that relates to the operational services provided.
    • Ensure that as regards Hub activities, shipment sorting and containerisation and pipeline visibility achieves agreed standards and level of accuracy including the checkpoints relating to shipments on –hold and other exceptions
    • Ensure accurate connectivity of Hub material through correct bagging and split to maintain performance level.
    • Evaluate identify and ensure the capture of the appropriates checkpoints at every stage of shipment movement within the LOSHUB to ensure shipment visibility.
    • Ensure that shipments with issues/problems are handled promptly and appropriate checkpoints created for them.
    • Ensure that complete WPX transmission and pre-alert are sent to transit/destination to enhance faster recovery and shipment processing through customs so as to enhance transit time.
    • Ensure compliance with DHL security policies and procedures, standards for damaged/MC/MS shipments management.
    • Comply with DHL Security policies and procedures, standards for first aid and Health and Safety and Environment guidelines.
    • Ensure warehouse equipment are kept in optimum operating conditions to warrant an efficient operation.
    • Ensure all time warehouse cleanness by maintaining excellent housekeeping.
    • Perform the PEAP process for direct reports to manage individual performance and career aspirations.

    Requirement

    • First Degree / HND/ or its equivalent qualification.

    Operations Agent

    Job Purpose

    Perform complete processing of shipments with the associated documentation in accordance with company and network standards and ensure timely return of scanning information and correct data to the network in accordance with DHL Global. S.O.P.

    Key responsibilities

    • Maintain a good relationship with all customers by ensuring that every contact is a demonstration of absolute dedication towards providing customer’s satisfaction. in line with DHL focus pillars and culture of speed, right first time, passion, and can-do spirit.
    • Support the effective implementation and deployment of Global, regional, and country projects, programmes and initiatives within the Loshub.· Recover and give appropriate scans to shipments from other stations in a timely and courteous manner in line with Global S.O.P and on time processing to meet flight closure and departure.
    • Participate in the implementation of, and compliance to Regional and Country processes, policies and procedures, and any local external regulatory requirements, that relate to the operational services provided.
    • Ensure timely and accurate return of the network checkpoints.
    • Allocate shipment to correct destination bags correctly and properly tagged to avoid misroute.
    • Ensure that complete WPX transmission and pre-alert are sent to transit /destination to enhance faster recovery and processing through customs to improve transit time.
    • Transfer of shipment requiring special handling to appropriate section or stations to speed up transit time.
    • Ensure that incident reports are sent on damaged and unidentified shipments including missing shipments and forwarded to the network via mails.
    • Ensure that materials are loaded on ULDs correctly properly netted in accordance with Aviation standards.
    • Ensure timely recovery of all pre-alerted materials in calms on commercial flights and confirm recovery same on calms daily.
    • Comply with DHL security policies and procedures, standards for first aid and Health and Safety and environmental guidelines.
    • Keep safe and use appropriately, in line with company regulations, all equipment supplied to aid performance of functions.
    • Capture full and accurate information in accordance with the Global S.O.P standards.
    • Open bags and sort materials in accordance with standard operational procedures and compliance to security guidelines.
    • Manage scale weights via NMIV for ULD build up in the sort for SABLE planning.

    NCG Agent

    Job Purpose

    Under the responsibility of the NCG supervisor, the Agents main mission is to ensure the optimal flow of information via internal DHL systems and applications, as well as the preparation and administrative follow-up of operational processes. Preparation of all documents and reports related to the activity, in accordance with internal procedures and working methods. Ensuring that flight alerts, pre-alerts and paperwork for Movements and MAWB are executed promptly and in compliance with Global SOP and airline requirements. To ensure that service, cost, safety and legal requirements are maintained on a day-to-day basis. Improving on shipment visibility by ensuring all appropriate checkpoints and standard remarks are done in line with GSOP standards.

    Key responsibilities

    • Daily planning and closure of movements on OCNT.
    • Process and create incoming and outgoing messages, transmissions via internal IT systems on time.
    • Ensure manifesting (TGV) compliance.
    • Support the ACS department in the administrative tasks related to the receipt and shipping of ACS goods, within the stipulated deadlines in accordance with ACS regulations and standards. Prepare transport documents related to operational activity.
    • Check ACS customer bookings to anticipate any connection or charging issues.
    • Ensure that Operations and the ACS department have the right number of ULDs for their activities and monitor RUM on a daily basis to have a balanced stock of ULDs in the SSA Western and central cluster and liaise with the stations in the cluster for proper daily inventory.
    • Ensure Scale control, Load control and ULD control functions have accurate inputs and are properly managed to ensure safety and accountability.
    • Follow and confirm on CALMS, all shipments, Imports, Exports that transit through the HUB on Commercial Flights.
    • Monitor and track inbound network data to ensure it is received in time for Sort operation.
    • Monitor and action network traces, queries and service incidents, local or international, to ensure smooth transition of materials.
    • To monitor, update, compile and submit daily on-hold reports to provide visibility of shipments not yet uplifted via the network and commercial flights at the end of operation at the Hub.
    • Update HUB systems and applications to ensure all required transmissions are sent and received on time. Also ensure all necessary data is entered accurately in a timely fashion to allow sorting/scanning to take place smoothly.
    • Conduct/Coordinate warehouse searches emanating from network trace requests and provide timely feedback
    • To ensure full compliance to Network Operating Standards and all GSOP procedure
