    Process Automation Sales Engineer

    • You will be working as Sales Specialist and will be the part of Process Automation business area for Energy Industries division based in Lagos, Nigeria.
    • In this role you will be reporting to the local Sales Manager and will be responsible for process automation sales of products / systems / service and the allocated accounts in accordance with the PAEN business strategy, building long term customer relationships and managing resolution to specific customer needs and issues, driving, identifying and developing sales opportunities forward and taking full accountability for the allocated sales budget.

    Your responsibilities

    • Selling products / systems / services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for the assigned region and accounts, awareness and achievement of company targets in operational EBIT, orders received, cash flow, revenues and overdues
    • Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promoting customer understanding of full offering portfolio and align to provide a solution, ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process
    • Maintaining relationships with existing customers and extend the customer network sustainably, understanding, managing and interpreting customer requirements/needs, providing technical support and assistance
    • Recording and maintaining client contact data, solving and proactively respond to client problems, preparing sales plans using the proper company tools, performing regular status reviews and proposing recovery plans in case of potential order shortfalls
    • Creating added value for the customer and ABB and ensures the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals by using effective sales techniques, communicating details in accordance with ABB offering strategy (delivery time, payments, and general terms and conditions)
    • Negotiating tender and contract terms, travel/visit potential clients within allocated region and or for allocated accounts, ensuring efficient marketing activities and value propositions to customers, communicating ABB products/services values to clients
    • Supporting marketing by attending exhibitions, conferences and other marketing events, making product presentations, identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensuring know-how sharing and cross-collaboration
    • Providing the management with marketing intelligence, performing won/lost analysis for major opportunities, managing administrative procedures in sales process and supporting collection and project management activities when needed
    • Following up with clients in receivables collection, ensuring smooth execution from order booking till customer delivery and financial closeout, communication with technical department/ proposals team to prepare technical offer
    • Following up with logistics to ensure proper dispatch and order handling, preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department, ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions

    Your background

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial environment with sales, marketing within the automation industry, experience in multinational organization is a plus.
    • experience with customer specifications review, proposal development and contract development is required
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, self-motivation, curiosity, can-do attitude, pragmatism, highest standard of integrity, personal leadership skills
    • Communication skills including perfect level of English and ability to communicate in local language
    • Cross cultural experience, team work player and high computer skills (MS Office, CRM)

    Service Engineer

    • You will be working as Service Engineer and will be part of Electrification business area for Services division based in Lagos, Nigeria.
    • In this role you will be reporting to Service Sales Manager and will be responsible to ensure the service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers, execute technical support and act as specialist in own area of expertise.
    • In collaboration with the customer and ABB units/sales teams ensures customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.

    Your responsibilities

    • Providing technical support by identifying technical problems and determining corrective actions in own area of expertise via remote or on-site service in any service category (installation and commissioning; maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.)
    • Focusing on one ABB Approach in delivering service, investigating customer needs through professional consulting, providing technical consulting and specialist assistance on service solutions to management and customers by giving relevant inputs on customer requirements and proposed service products/solutions
    • Determining effective service applications, equipment and methods to develop, market or manufacture new service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost effectively, managing customer relationships and maintaining regular contacts with key customers
    • Identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are met and business opportunities utilized for service growth, conducting specialist support and advisory service for sales team
    • Ensuring accurate communication and exchange of technical information to the customers to address their needs and reporting, following up with customers feedback to achieve high level of customer satisfaction
    • Coordinating and performing specialist service projects in relevant areas internally and externally (e.g. milestones, project plan, cost supervision, action steps, project reviews, project supervision) including all commercials, preparing all required technical documents and reports for project contracts to be signed by the customer representative
    • Reporting work done in a timely manner and providing relevant technical supporting documents to the service execution teams and following up when needed, participating in maintenance meetings and improvement activities to proactively provide suggestions for product and quality improvement and shares with ABB organization/management
    • Providing technical specialist support and coordination for the service team, planning activities, coordinating the work of internal and external technicians and assigns them specific tasks related to service needs, supervising project teams and contractors at work site and monitors performance

    Your background

    • Bachelors/Higher National Diploma - Electrical Engineering (Power Systems)
    • Minimum of 5 years experience of as a commissioning or field service engineer performing the below task-
    • Must be able to perform primary and secondary injection on protection relays, able to perform relay settings and simulate trip test with different setpoints and time settings able to carry out contact resistance, vacuum integrity, H.V. test on circuit breakers and medium voltage Switchgears
    • Ability to perform wiring checks and commissioning of M.V/L. V Switchgears, ability to operate Omicron test set utilizing the test universe application software
    • Overall knowledge of relay retrofit, relay Engineering, drawing modifications and markups, must have knowledge performing test on Power Transformers and commissioning of distribution networks with interfaces and should be in possession of driving license & passport
    • Fluency in English language is mandatory
