    Accountant

    Lendigo is seeking to hire a Data-Driven Accountant to join its team in Lagos, reporting directly to the country's senior accountant. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations involving all accounting transactions, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, expenses, bank payments, local taxes, capital importation, allocation of idle funds, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate must be familiar with accounting procedures and should have experience with accounting software programs (like Xero).

    Key responsibilities

    • Prepare end-of-month reports
    • Prepare audits, forecasts, and other fiscal planning.
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company including daily account reconciliation, cash/treasury management, and internal/external financial & compliance reporting
    • Prepare financial reports in accordance with local and regulatory accounting principles and ensure compliance with the accounting Policies (IFRS)
    • Support periodic reporting to stakeholders
    • Fact-checking invoices for payment and processing
    • Processing billing adjustments and refunds
    • Handling bookkeeping, including daily bank reconciliation 
    • Maintaining loan ledgers and other general ledgers on Xero
    • Interfacing with the company’s banking and business partners 

    Responsibilities for this role include

    • Manage all accounting transactions that come through the business
    • Process the bank statements and perform bank reconciliations
    • Monthly filing of statutory (PAYE, VAT, WHT, etc.)
    • Processing of invoices and liaising with other departments regarding payables.
    • Interfacing with the company’s banking and business partners 
    • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct account allocations
    • Maintaining Loan ledgers and other general ledgers on Xero
    • Prepare a monthly Profit and Loss Statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in accordance with local and regulatory accounting principles and ensure compliance with the accounting Policies (IFRS)
    • Audit financial transactions and documents
    • Handling any other financial function delegated by Superior or management staff.

    Your profile

    • First Degree in accounting or finance-related discipline.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience post-NYSC
    • Professional student of Accounting (ICAN, ACCA, etc.) would be added advantage
    • Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
    • Exposure to finance or bank-related functions would be an added advantage.
    • Versatile in using ERP such as Xero, NAV Dynamic, Sage, etc
    • You exhibit strong analytical and IT skills, as well as Excel and spreadsheet expertise. Basic SQL knowledge is required for this position.

    Head of Debt Recovery

    Lendigo is seeking to hire a Data-Driven Debt Recovery Lead to join its team in Lagos. The Head of Debt Recovery owns the recovery operations process from intake until recovery. He/She leads the implementation and execution of the debt recovery strategy and is accountable for providing strategic direction and guidance on a broad and diverse range of complex operational activities.

    This is a critical function that links the dots from end to end throughout the credit recovery process. In line with Lendigo's mission of educating customers about responsible credit behavior,  you will provide intellectual leadership and direction that drives collections experience, operational efficiency, and business success.

    Ideal candidates will be extremely flexible with scheduling, working weekends and occasionally on holidays.

    You will also be responsible for

    Supervisory duties and responsibilities

    • Drive the recruitment of the recovery network in line with the needs of the business by working with the recruitment team.
    • Define resource requirements to optimize for quick fund recovery while maintaining reasonable levels of overhead.
    • Implementing new strategies and tactics to improve collections and recovery performance, training and coaching staff to improve performance.
    • Monitor all loans in recovery and ensure they are being handled efficiently.

     

    Operational duties and responsibilities

    • Lead recovery-expansion activities to drive business growth.
    • Analyze and work with data to continue to improve recovery processes and strategies with the goal of achieving peak recovery efficiency.
    • Developing policies, procedures, and guidelines governing debt recovery activity.
    • Carry out a gap analysis to identify potential inefficiencies or bottlenecks in the recovery process.
    • Define the performance appraisal process for all recovery officers, managers, and other participants in the recovery process.
    • Overseeing bottom-line metrics, including detailed strategic analysis, forecasting, and account placement.
    • Work with business leaders to report trends and provide suggestions on ways to reduce loan delinquency or information that could aid the recovery management process.
    • Liaising with collection agencies regarding the collection and claim pay activities and further developing strong, sustainable relationships.

    Your Profile

    • 3+ years of experience in consumer or commercial lending/process analysis or credit/risk/collection.
    • Good knowledge of corporate credit, collection agencies, legal and compliance procedures, credit risk, and account management.
    • Understanding of the full credit lifecycle, including acquisition, fraud, account management, collections, and recoveries.
    • Experienced in performance management.
    • Able to deal with uncertainty and make decisions with limited information, thus action-oriented.

    NYSC - Credit Collections Intern

    We are currently seeking passionate individuals with a flair for credit and collections to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. Your main responsibility is ensuring that our customers make payments on time while working closely with other teams together. Moreover, you will also be accountable for improving our overall collections rate. The Credit Collections Tele Agent will report to the Head of Portfolio.

    Ideal candidates will be extremely flexible with scheduling, working weekends and occasionally on holidays.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Making calls to debtors and ensuring that terms and conditions of loan facilities are complied with, i.e. prompt repayment
    • To embrace the challenge of minimizing loss resulting from non-payment of loans
    • Ensuring the CRM tool is used to record interactions with clients, fast typing speed while on the phone required
    • At ease with transitioning to Customer Support activities to assist customers in need of help, e.g. for repayments, loan applications, complaints, via phone, e-mail, social media
    • To provide feedback on collection activities for policy changes
    • Preparation of reports, providing insights based on data analysis and identification of patterns
