    Community Based Case Worker

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct assessments of children's protection needs, including those who have been affected by armed conflict, displacement, and other forms of violence.
    • Identify and prioritize children and families requiring case management and support services.
    • Develop and implement individual case plans that address the specific protection, psychosocial, and reintegration needs of children.
    • Provide direct counseling and support to children and families, utilizing child-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approaches.
    • Collaborate with community-based structures and organizations to ensure timely and appropriate support for child protection concerns.
    • Facilitate and coordinate family tracing and reunification processes for separated and unaccompanied children.
    • Engage with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, community leaders, and service providers, to advocate for the protection and well-being of children.
    • Document all case management activities accurately and timely by relevant guidelines and standards.
    • Support the monitoring and evaluation of child protection and reintegration programs, contributing to the measurement of impact and outcomes.
    • Contribute to capacity-building initiatives for community members and partners on child protection systems and best practices.
    • Should know and be able to use the Primero interface.
    • He / She shall also undertake any other role or responsibility assigned by the CP program manager.

    Reporting:

    • The caseworker will report directly to the reintegration officer.
    • Represent Street Child at coordination meetings at the community level and report minutes to the reintegration officer.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, child development, or a related field.
    • At least two years of experience in child protection, case management, and reintegration, preferably in humanitarian or conflict-affected settings.
    • In-depth understanding of child protection principles, international standards, and national legislation.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

    Animators

    • We are seeking passionate and dedicated PSS Animators to join our team, working towards the protection and reintegration of children affected by conflict and crisis in Maiduguri and Adamawa. The PSS Animators will play a crucial role in providing psychosocial support and promoting the well-being of children through creative and engaging activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct psychosocial support sessions and activities for children affected by conflict and crisis, focusing on their emotional and social well-being.
    • Utilize creative and interactive methods, such as art, music, drama, and play, to engage children in a safe and supportive environment.
    • Collaborate with child protection teams to identify and address the specific needs and challenges faced by children in the target areas.
    • Facilitate group discussions and activities that promote resilience, coping mechanisms, and positive peer interactions among children.
    • Work closely with families and communities to promote understanding and support for the psychosocial well-being of children.
    • Document and monitor the progress and impact of psychosocial support activities, and contribute to ongoing evaluations and assessments.
    • Contribute to the development and adaptation of psychosocial support materials and resources for children and caregivers.
    • He / She shall also undertake any other role or responsibility assigned by the line manager.

    Reporting:

    • He / She as an Animator will work closely with caseworkers and report directly to the reintegration officer.

    Facilitators

    Job Description:

    • Provide inclusive age- and gender-appropriate focused psychosocial support (PSS) to vulnerable adolescent girls and boys.
    • Provide parenting skills sessions to targeted parents and caregivers.
    • Provide age- and gender-appropriate awareness-raising key messages on critical SGBV and CP risks, available services, and gender equality & inclusion, provided to vulnerable adolescent girls and boys.
    • Full coordination with senior management to ensure proper implementation of the project.
    • Plan, organize, and run activities with adolescents while facilitating and encourage their participation.
    • Ensure activities run promptly to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
    • Ensure that all beneficiaries are involved in the activities being implemented.
    • Deal with difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion) and understand the reason behind the behavior to positively communicate with the situation.
    • Ensure that the adolescents under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities.
    • Collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled.
    • Identify key protection issues or threats affecting children and adolescents and raise them to the senior case manager.
    • Refer child protection and GBV cases to the case worker(s) of the project.
    • Ensure all project means such as attendance sheets and evaluation documents… are in filled in neatly and clearly and are always done promptly.
    • Report back to senior staff if requested promptly.
    • He / She shall also undertake any other role or responsibility assigned by the line manager.

    Reporting:

    • He / She as an Animator will work closely with caseworkers and report directly to the reintegration officer.
