    Engineering Lead (Core Banking)

    Job Description

    • Define and maintain robust architectural frameworks and standards that support the development of innovative banking solutions.
    • Scope and lead building of new product features and highly performant microservices.
    • Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination in delivering exceptional FinTech products.
    • Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure FinTech products.
    • Attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent, while continuously developing and mentoring team members to drive their growth and success.
    • Collaborate with the executive team to shape and execute the company's technical strategy, aligning it with business objectives and staying at the forefront of industry trends.
    • Communicate engineering strategy and status updates transparently and effectively to stakeholders and senior leadership.
    • Make tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.
    • Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance practices, including testing and code reviews, to maintain the highest product quality standards.

    Experience and Requirements

    • Proven track record of leadership in engineering roles within the fintech or banking sector.
    • Strong knowledge of banking products and financial services.
    • Strong technical background, with 7+ years of hands-on experience, using Java, and Spring Boot.
    • Strong technical experience using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, SQL (Stored procedures, JPQL/Criteria API)
    • Solid knowledge of security (Access Controls, roles, Permissions).
    • Hands-on experience architecting and building large-scale, highly available distributed systems/applications.
    • Experience working with relational databases, schema design, and performing query optimizations
    • Leverage automated tests and observability tooling to help ship features to production with confidence.
    • A good understanding of CI/CD tools, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to any audience.
    • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring a high-performance engineering team.
    • Ability to craft well-written technical design documentation.
    • Prior experience working on core banking infrastructure (Lending, Savings, Payments, VAS)

    Frontend Engineering Lead

    Job Description

    • Design overall frontend architecture of web and mobile applications.

    Requirements

    • Strong professional background (5+ years) in our technology stack: Typescript, ReactJS, Webpack, Next.js
    • Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code and treat security as a first-class citizen.
    • Proficiency in agile methodologies, continuous integration and deployment, test automation, cloud-based infrastructure, and tooling
    • Analytical proficiency, both in the technical and in the product domain
    • Ability to think outside the box and to work independently.

    Requirements

    • Proven track record as a Technical Product Manager in the fintech or banking sector.
    • Experience working with microservices in a cloud environment.
    • Have technical product management experience in a Product-first, B2B company.
    • Have experience working with a digital product used by a technical user base such as PaaS - this could also include APIs, SaaS.
    • Experience working with a product integrated with multiple endpoints - e.g., communications APIs, financial data APIs.
    • Deep comprehension of banking products, financial services, and fintech trends.
    • Exceptional analytical acumen, adept at navigating complex challenges.
    • Superb communication and leadership skills, capable of inspiring and mobilizing teams.

    Product Lead - Wealth & Credit

    Job Description

    • Lead the development and growth of Aku’s core infrastructure products 
    • Lead the development, growth, launch as well as performance of Aku’s digital lending through customer acquisition, customer retention, balance sheet growth to support the achievement of overall business strategy. 
    • Define and execute prioritization processes for the digital lending. 
    • Ensuring overall product development is guided by prioritised requirements and features 
    • Define lending product vision; formulate and iterate the product strategy to drive the business’s product profitability and customer experience, including: 
    • Creating detailed PRD's to guide product development and execution 
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders in technological implementation of loan origination and management systems including defining scope and overseeing deployment. 
    • Identify and recommend new products or partnerships to expand product capabilities 
    • Identifies target consumer segments and markets. 
    • Ensures a continuous improvement in the products 
    • Driving adoption of existing product capabilities and client acquisition.

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of product management experience building consumer web and mobile products.
    • 2+ years of experience working with financial products/digital lending in the Tech space (banking, fintech).
    • A passion and track record of creativity and building great products
    • Experience in financial services (especially lending) is essential
    • Data-driven and experiment-driven style to optimize for learning. Experience with data analysis tools preferred
