    Advisor, Legal, GF

    Job Description

    To effectively manage and mitigate the legal risks faced by Group Functions such as IT, Procurement, Human Capital and the Real Estate Teams by providing value added legal advisory services to the business and to implement adequate controls cascading down from the Head BCB & GF. To support the Group Functions business in operationalizing and aligning its strategy and contracting process.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Type of Qualification: First Degree
    • Field of Study: Law

    Experience Required

    • 3-5 years corporate legal experience preferably on an in-house legal team, preferably related to technology transactions, Procurement support experience including but not limited to direct and indirect procurement, IT procurement, supplier relationship management, supplier onboarding, and contractual dispute resolution. Experience negotiating directly with opposing counsel regarding contract terms and conditions.

    Advisor, Legal, Dispute Resolution

    Job Description

     To work directly with the Dispute Resolution Team to fulfil their role of managing the litigation portfolio of the HoldCo and other subsidiaries. In addition to this, the incumbent is expected to ensure that support the legal risk management function for the HoldCo and other subsidiaries.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelors-in-Law from a university as well as the Nigerian Law School required. Proof of payment of the annual lawyer’s practicing fee required.

    Minimum Experience 

    Dispute Resolution

    • 4 – 8 years in the Legal Services Department of a financial institution or a reputable law firm.
    • Proven experience in dispute resolution and the provision of legal advice, drafting, vetting, review, dissemination and/or negotiation, with at least 5 years' experience within the legal and/or financial sectors. Identification and mitigation of legal risk.
