    Financial Analyst

    The Opportunity:

    • EMRC is looking for a dynamic Financial Analyst who will play a crucial role in supporting our financial strategy and decision-making processes.
    • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial modelling, energy market analytics, and a keen interest in the energy sector's economic and regulatory environment.

    Your Role:

    • Develop and maintain financial models, including tariff models.
    • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support project valuation, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast business scenarios and assess viability.
    • Analyze market trends and regulatory changes in the energy sector and evaluate their financial impact.
    • Prepare detailed financial reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and recommendations.
    • Monitor financial performance indicators for clients and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare financial models for renewable energy projects.
    • Support feasibility studies and commercial due diligence.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes.
    • Engage in risk assessment and mitigation strategies, particularly in relation to energy investments and projects.
    • Participate in the financial evaluation of potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships.
    • Stay informed about the latest developments in the energy market and financial regulation.

    Your Profile:

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or a related field; master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA,FMVA) is a plus.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in the energy sector or a related industry.
    • Strong proficiency in financial modelling and analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
    • Knowledge and experience of data analysis tools (Excel, SQL,R,etc.).
    • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Knowledge of the energy sector’s economic drivers, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, or a related field.
    • At least 3 years of experience in a business development role, with a proven track record in donor engagement, grant writing, and winning bids.
    • Demonstrated success in proposal development and project funding in the energy sector or a related field.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analysis and reporting techniques.
    • Experience in the Nigerian Power Sector is a significant plus.
