    Database Administrator

    Summary

    • S/he helps to take on the management and development of MS SharePoint and MS SQL Databases in the enterprise.
    • S/He provides support and guidance for the organization MS SharePoint users, ensures SharePoint functionality, updates the software as necessary, and addresses and resolves any issues with the software performance.
    • S/He is also responsible for the management of the existing databases in the enterprise thereby ensure maximum uptime is achieved on the platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, configure, implement, and administer databases to be consistent, clearly defined, and secure.
    • Manage direct and privileged access to databases.
    • Plan and implement application and data provisioning.
    • Develop and maintain complex database schemas and logical designs.
    • Provide technical direction in the area of requirement definition, planning, coordination, programming, and implementation of databases.
    • Track and maintain all information on databases.
    • Proactively manage, configure and administer databases in all environments (production, test, QA, development, etc.).
    • Perform configuration and administration, event, fault and performance management. 
    • Provide support to all environments (production, test, QA, development, etc.)
    • Fulfil service requests and perform routine maintenance and support activities.
    • Perform backup and recovery activities of information and computer services, in order to guarantee the operations in case of disaster.
    • Proactively monitor database activity and usage and provide warnings when these reach critical thresholds.
    • Design, configure, implement, and administer MS SharePoint.
    • Maintains records of SharePoint updates, maintenance, and activity.
    • Provides technical support for SharePoint users.
    • Keeps apprised of Microsoft updates to SharePoint software.
    • Applies updates to MS SharePoint as necessary.
    • Holds training and informational sessions to teach employees how to use SharePoint.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of a First Degree or its equivalent in a Business / IT related discipline.
    • Master's or recognized professional certifications will be an added advantage.

    Server Administrator

    Summary

    • The Junior System/Server Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
    • He participates in technical research and development under the supervision of the senior server administrator, to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
    • He ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling all stakeholders.

    Responsibilities
    System Administration Engineering and Provisioning:

    • Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
    • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Install and configure systems such as supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications.
    • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
    • Contribute to and maintain system standards.
    • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.  Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

    Operations and Support:

    • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
    • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
    • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
    • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
    • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
    • Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies.  Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
    • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.  Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

    Maintenance:

    • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
    • Upgrade and configure system software that supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs.
    • Maintain operation, configuration, or other procedures.
    • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
    • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
    • Ensure Antivirus is up to date on all servers.

    Data Centre Management:

    • Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
    • Conduct quarterly review for Data Centre service providers.
    • Maintain access request log for servers & system resources.
    • Manage all incident reports relating to the Data Centre
    • Maintain access log to Data Centre in all locations.
    • Ensure all Data Centers meet minimum tier 1 requirements.
    • Implement the readiness of Abuja DR site for Data replication.
    • Virtualize all the desktop servers in the Data Centre
    • Review the performance of environmental monitoring tool in the Data Centre
    • Security for servers
    • Ensure all systems, DBs and applications are backed up as required.

    Messaging Systems:

    • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Messaging Systems
    • Lead messaging projects, software upgrades, architecture changes and implementation of new components within the environment.
    • Develop procedures for routine Exchange server maintenance tasks such as realigning Exchange database copies within DAGs, moving mailboxes, etc.
    • Troubleshoot Messaging Server issues, working in collaboration with other relevant IT areas and vendor support towards a quick and effective resolution.
    • Develop Office 365 migration strategy for on-premises Exchange servers to Exchange online.
    • Responsible for monitoring and resolving Service Desk escalated incident and problem tickets assigned to the Exchange team. All incidents should be worked to service level targets and resolutions documented in call detail.
    • Perform other related duties/special projects as assigned to support the IT business initiatives.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
    • Proven 1 to 2 years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
    • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
    • Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
    • Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other language.

    IT Strategy and Governance Manager

    Summary

    • 8+ years of experience in strategy, planning or architecture in a financial services industry. ​
    • Substantial experience in strategic planning.
    • Experience in application development lifecycle, project management methodology, business and systems analysis, IT governance and information security.
    • Profound experience in the assessment of IT value and optimization of IT investments, IT strategy planning.
    • Extensive experience in developing strategic systems architecture plans, and establishing and maintaining IT governance and standards.
    • Creative mind with strong analytical and conceptual skills to develop and present new ideas, approaches, and solutions.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to technical, business, and management audiences.
