    Social Media and Communications Intern

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Your responsibilities are not but limited to the following;

    • Report to and work closely with the Programme Manager of DevTrain
    • Will support program planning, design, review and review communications materials for internal and external audiences, including briefing books, employee newsletters, press releases and articles to be used on websites, social media, and newsletters.
    • The potential candidate will assist in maintaining the DevTrain’s Facebook, Twitter (X), LinkedIn and Instagram handles archive of digital images, videos, and other content.
    • The Communication and Social Media Intern will play an active role the development of DevTrain online community.
    • Consult with appropriate staff/departments on internal/external communications issues and the production of publications and presentation materials for the purpose of ensuring accurate data/information.
    • The intern will learn how to reach communities, and promote events or programs through the internet and gain experience in social media platforms and the tools used to assess their performance.

    Experiences:

    • She/he must have up to 2 years’ experience in Project Cycle Management and managing organizational resources with excellent analytical professional report writing capacity.
    • Skills related to word processing are required, and familiarity or training in electronic mail, website development, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Canva and other publishing software is preferred.
    • In-depth understanding of various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and their respective best practices.
    • Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in social media.
    • Prior experience in a communications role required with leadership experience highly desired. Excellent organizational skills and Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to develop and implement effective content amplification strategies to increase reach and engagement.
    • Understanding of organic and paid amplification methods.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to craft compelling and brand-consistent messages

    • Adaptable and responsive disposition relative to the demands and development of the project

    Qualifications and requirements

    • This internship is open to current NYSC member and recent graduates.
    • This is a full-time paid internship (Stipends).
    • Candidates should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a wide range of personalities.
    • This internship will benefit someone who is interested in making a career in the social development or NGO sector, education and youth development

    Behaviour Competencies and IT skills:

    • Good planning and leadership qualities
    • Ability to take initiative and work in collaboration.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English language and a Nigerian language.
    • Good knowledge of developing posters, stickers and IEC materials.
    • Good knowledge of social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+.
    • Available to work 10-30 hours per week.
