    Senior Advisor, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI)

    Main Responsibilities

    • We are now looking for an experienced development professional to provide strategic leadership and support our country teams across the world in the areas of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI).
    • This is a global role, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to grow our work in this area and improve the quality of projects and research that BBC Media Action delivers. 
    • The post holder will provide expert advice on how the organisation can be innovative and achieve impact  through gender transformative and social inclusion programming, and develop staff, institutional and partner capacity under this theme.

    Are you the right candidate?

    • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge, understanding and experience of how media and communication can support gender equality and social inclusion in development contexts and achieve impact.  
    • The role may involve working with groups of vulnerable children and adults. For the successful candidate, mandatory training will be provided on BBC Media Action’s safeguarding policy and staff code of conduct.
    • A background check will form part of the recruitment process. BBC Media Action operates a zero-tolerance policy concerning all forms of abuse and exploitation of vulnerable people.

    • Decision making
    • Reports to: Thematic Lead (Head of Advisory).
    • Has direct responsibility for developing thematic approaches and strategies.
    • Represents the organisation externally.
