    Procurement Lead

    Responsibilities
    Business:

    • Manage supplier relationships and all aspects of customer service related to procurement.
    • Contribute to the formulation and achievement of business goals, targets, initiatives & directions.
    • Increase efficiency and effectiveness in procurement processes whilst mitigating risk.
    • Ensure all supplier contracts are agreed with the relevant business owner.
    • Collate all relevant business unit procurement requirements, providing the necessary information to ensure robust planning, budget and target setting.
    • Run professional tender processes to ensure the objective and secure selection of suppliers for goods and services to the company.
    • Leverage scale and logistics to ensure best price and supply chain efficiency.
    • Analyze, interpret and present (when required) the results of market analysis, tender results and strategic recommendations to colleagues and senior management.
    • Work closely with other departments to create and deliver Supply Strategies that support the aims and aspirations of the company’s business units.

    Leadership:

    • Own the relationship between procurement and all its customers (internal & external).
    • Appraise requisitions and manage customer expectations to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
    • Communicate relevant supply chain and procurement strategies, processes and policies to customers, to ensure compliance and engender a common understanding of each other’s goals and targets.
    • Responsible for approving supplier selection for all purchasing categories including those managed at branch level.
    • Manage the procurement team effectively to set them up for success and organizational objectives.

    Management:

    • Ensure the business is compliant with procurement policies and actively manage any compliance issues.
    • Utilize a consistent approach-based company policies, standards and platforms for daily tasks. This may include developing internal SLA’s and monitoring against this performance.
    • Identify the appropriate route for the resolution of supplier contractual performance issues and manage such to ensure prompt resolution.
    • Coach and develop direct reports and ensure they have personal development plans in place.
    • Create supply strategies which ensure continued Compliant, High Quality, Secure and Cost Competitive products and services are supplied to the company.

    Relationship:

    • Build strong multi-level business relationships with customers as well as with vendors, know who their key customers/stakeholders and effectively manage all relevant relationships.
    • Manage any conflicting requirements between customer/vendors and the company, escalating any issues as appropriate.

    Innovation:

    • Determine the scope, scale and impact of any new products or services required by the customer, communicate same to the relevant suppliers where appropriate or amend strategies and contracts as required to meet customer needs.
    • Establish market knowledge for products and suppliers to become an “expert” to whom others can turn for advice on key products / suppliers.
    • Brief colleagues on market developments and commercial intelligence which may impact upon supply as and when required to do so.
    • Develop a center of excellence in the procurement function that supports the Company’s present and future business whilst enhancing its reputation

    Experience & Knowledge:

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
    • 5-8 years procurement management experience.
    • Ideally have worked across multiple geographies and will display a high degree of market insight and strategic orientation.
    • Knowledge of financial modelling and insight driven analytics to guide the procurement strategy.
    • Understand the three strategic thrusts: Suppliers, Analytics & Commodities.
    • Understand the private equity environment to enable success. T
    • Operationally strong.
    • Demonstrate track record of strategic sourcing; leading negotiations and cost leadership.

    Technical Competencies:

    • Good influencing and facilitation skills to act as the interface between end market business units and suppliers balancing the optimum delivery of customer requirements with the need to adhere to a group approach and lead others to deliver results.
    • Supplier relationship management through development, rebate and supplier term optimization and supplier performance monitoring.
    • Conversant with the sourcing process including negotiation and contracts placement
    • Understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
    • Database management.
    • Project Management experience, with emphasis on category and sourcing strategies at end market level.
    • Sound knowledge of corporate regulations and local legislation to ensure the creation of effective commercial contracts.
    • Knowledge of the procurement processes, platforms and policies.
    • Ability to run a structured tender exercise for products and services.
    • Proficiency in conducting successful supplier negotiations with third party companies.
    • Strong negotiation skills that will support the successful delivery of supply solutions (preferably in the facilities management space).
    • Strong Interpersonal Skills that will facilitate working with suppliers to develop them and build long term competitive supply relationships.
    • Ability to analyse data and create and give presentations to all levels of management / teams.
