    Merchandiser / Operations Manager

    Job Description

    • The Merchandising/ Operations Manager is responsible for the overall retail merchandise and visual and operational presentation of the Company Retail, including but not limited to layout, schematics, directives, signage, and procurement of products lines.

    Responsibilities 

    • Sources and purchases retail merchandise which differentiates our company retail in the marketplace
    • Ensures the overall visual presentation of the markets
    • Provides the development of market layout, schematics, and directives
    • Ensures the procurement and development of all merchandise – both national and private label brands
    • Provides the design and development of all private label branded programs
    • Provides oversight and audit of market stock, storage and placement
    • Provides the design, direction and placement of the signage program
    • Ensures the management of holiday, seasonal, and local programs
    • Would liaise with HR dept in the recruitment and staffing of junior merchandisers
    • Provides the training and development of subordinates
    • Ensures performance management of junior merchandisers
    • Leads the relationship development and communications with terminal operations management and staff
    • Ensures communication of market suggestions, needs, and concerns to terminal management and supervisor

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Retail Merchandizing or related field
    • Five years related purchasing and merchandizing experience
    • Attention to detail and visual presentation
    • Computer skills to orchestrate schematics
    • Communication skills to train, execute and build relationships
    • Organization skills to manage multiple priorities and staff at multiple locations.
    • Quantitative skills for forecast product needs, capacities and flows
    • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel and lift up to 12 kg on a regular basis
    • Ability to sit for extended periods to execute administrative and computer tasks

    Education & Qualification:

    • Applicants for this position must have a minimum of 5yrs experience in merchandizing in a retail food store in a reputable Company
    • A Degree in Retail & Merchandising, Social Science, Marketing or any related field.
