    Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment)

    Job Description

    • To support the mechanical maintenance function to optimize production and to ensure asset integrity assurance.
    • To provide technical services to Asset maintenance teams and other functions as may be required and support availability and reliability of mechanical rotating equipment through technical assurance, inspection and audits of production facilities.
    • Support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) with Hardware Barrier Assessment (HBA) review of assigned Rotating Equipment Safety Critical Elements
    • Participate in site visits, prepare initial draft with findings & recommendations in a Current Status Report (CSR) for review and participate in final Corrective Action Workshop (CAW) report out to asset team.
    • Provide support to Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in carrying out reviews of Management of Change (MoC) request and deviations and support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in carrying out MoC LOD 2 Audits
    • Provide support to Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in maintenance plan review, optimisation and identifying critical rotating equipment without maintenance plans on SAP for creation.
    • Support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in carrying Root Cause Analysis for critical rotating equipment bad actors.
    • Support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) engagements with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM); support in organising new service bulletin cascade sessions with asset stakeholders and drive implementation of OEM service bulletins on process gas compressors & turbines.
    • Review and update existing Technical Monitoring Plans (TMP) for critical rotating equipment with new tags to ensure optimum monitoring.
    • Support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in the review of asset critical spares to ensure optimum levels are maintained. Thus, reducing unplanned downtime.
    • Support the Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in the development of Technical Monitoring Plans (TMP) for critical rotating equipment in line with Proactive Technical Monitoring (PTM) implementation plan
    • Support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in developing obsolesce plan for critical rotating equipment and replacement initiatives of obsolete rotating equipment.
    • Support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in resolving issues identified in offline condition monitoring activity for various assets; review findings, track corrective actions and follow up to close out.
    • Participate in asset Manage Threat & Opportunity (MTO) meetings and support Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in identifying areas of support in resolving threat issues on critical rotating equipment.
    • Provide support to Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in the review of asset register for improvement projects and new projects.
    • Provide support to Rotating Equipment Technical Authority (TA) in Technical Integrity Verification (TIV) site visit review of critical rotating SCEs; identify issues and follow up with vendors & OEM and asset team to resolve issues.
    • Support in the review of 2Y critical commissioning spares, maintenance matrix & Maintenance Job Routines (MJR) before commissioning.
    • To support Manage Threat & Opportunity (MTO) of critical mechanical rotating equipment problems inherent in ageing hydrocarbon production systems as cost – effective contribution to the achievement of corporate business objectives.

    Academics

    • B. Sc./ B. Eng./HND in Mechanical Engineering

    Work Experience

    • Minimum 5-years’ experience in mechanical equipment (rotating and static) maintenance, asset support and technical assurance of an oil and gas facility, Refinery, Petrochemical plant, Liquified Natural Gas facility. Knowledgeable in maintenance programs and engineering best practices for shutdown and startup support, commissioning and pre-commissioning activities for production facilities and or equipment

    Technology Platforms

    • Adept at working with enterprise Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Skype) knowledge.
    • Skilled with the use of Systems Applications and Processes (SAP) version 7.70 enterprise application for plant maintenance planning, execution and auditing

    Professional Certifications

    • Must be COREN certified (or actively working towards securing certification)
    • Any other professional memberships shall be considered as added advantage
