    Marketing Manager, Personal Care Sub-Sahara Africa

    What you can expect

    • The successful incumbent will be responsible to lead and manage Operative Marketing for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) through supporting profitable growth of the business unit portfolio across personal care, improving the Personal Care country strategy that aligns with market segment strategies, implementing projects according to regional strategy, and managing external communication measures. 

    Duties will include the following:

    • Be the Responsible Operative Marketing representative for the regional customer approach for Sub-Sahara Africa
    • Contribute to customer account planning, acquisition of new projects to secure future business, preparation of customer/distributor events (single customers or country events) with relevant functions
    • Implement regional market segment strategies and product launches
    • Prioritize and steer local technical application activities
    • Organize and steer preparation of local/regional exhibitions in SSA including booking, booth, and promotion materials
    • Develop and roll out promotional material (e.g., One-Page-Promoters, Presentations) as well as innovative concepts to support growth of value-adding products for new positioning and retention
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer positioning to contribute to market and segment approach
    • Responsible for product launches
    • Responsible for local/regional communication planning and implementation in collaboration with the Business Unit and local corporate communications
    • Responsible for product/concept training for sales and distributors on EMB portfolio, including new launches and concepts together with application technology.
    • Responsible for creation and roll out of regional concepts, driven by local consumer and market insights, with support from relevant functions
    • Monitor sustainability trends and requirements (consumer, customer), as well as considering and implementing sustainability concepts/strategy, and supporting projects
    • Regularly monitor market product development
    • Ensure regular Country Marketing Reporting and input into strategic management meetings and decision making.

    What we expect

    • Tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering, or Social Science
    • Minimum of 5 years working experience in the end consumer product industry or cosmetic ingredient industry coupled with technical understanding in personal care industry
    • Ability to speak French (if not yet able, must be willing to learn it within 12-18 months)
    • Willingness to travel regularly within the sub-Saharan region
    • Excellent project management, presentation, and communication skills.
