    Health and Nutrition Coordinator

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Project Management: Lead the organization’s humanitarian and developmental efforts in Health and Nutrition sector in emergencies, from conception through implementation and onward to the transition phase, ensuring programming exceeds established quality criteria and technical standards.
    • Assist with resource mobilization by designing, drafting, and reviewing concept notes and technical proposals for emergency Health and Nutrition operations and related programming, as required.
    • Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the design, implementation and uptake of the Health & Nutrition assessments, Multisectoral need assessment, Baseline and endline in coordination with the MEAL department.
    • Lead the development of quarterly, semi-annual and annual donor report.
    • Project quality: Provide technical guidance on appropriate Health and Nutrition activities and strategies, and devise sector-specific response strategies for the acute and transitional phases of emergency operations in crisis-affected communities.
    • Ensure that the Health and Nutrition program will be implemented in accordance with international protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
    • Partnership and stakeholders Management: Assess the local Health and Nutrition infrastructure and service-provider capabilities, identify support needs, service gaps, and opportunities for partnership.
    • Develop partnerships and ensure effective coordination with key project stakeholders; local service providers, local government authorities, and international organizations operating in the Health and Nutrition sectors and attend national and regional cluster meetings.
    • Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels.
    • Supply chain management: Work with operations staff and partners to ensure commodities are procured, handled, and managed properly, in accordance with the organization’s pharmaceutical supply-chain management protocols.
    • Engage UN agencies (UNICEF and WFP) to facilitate FRAD foundation access to relevant nutritional supplies, routine medications, commodities in project areas.
    • Budget Management: Lead Health and Nutrition program budgets, as assigned, including routine expense forecasting and pipeline analysis.
    • Staff Management: Determine staffing needs for Health and Nutrition programming, conduct recruitment in collaboration with management and home office technical staff, as necessary.
    • Management and technical oversight of Health and Nutrition Managers and their team
    • Multisectoral and Intersectoral integration: Regularly coordinate with other sectors to ensure an integrated, efficient, timely, and holistic response.
    • Coordination and representation: represent FRAD foundation in internal and external fora, Coordination meeting, Donor and programs major stakeholders, relevant government authorities and other program partners engagement.

    Key Working Relationships:

    • Position Reports to: Executive Director (ED)
    • Position directly Supervises: Program Manager, GBV, Nutrition and Grant/partnership Manager.
    • Other Internal and/or external contacts: GBV, Health and Nutrition staff and operations staff.
    • External: Health cluster, MoH, SPHCDA, LGA PHC department, partner UN Agencies INGO/NNGO’s

    Qualifications/ Education:

    • Degree in Medicine or master’s in public health (Certificate in Nutrition is an added advantage)
    • Must possess VALID practicing license by Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Health and Nutrition programming.
    • Excellent knowledge of humanitarian and development systems, institutions and donors best practices. (Knowledge and application of Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) and USAID guidelines and compliance regulation an added advantage).
    • Experienced leading humanitarian response initiatives, as well as community-based emergencies in Health and Nutrition Thematic.
    • Experienced in report writing specifically BHA, USAID and NHF Donor reporting (highly recommended).
    • Experience in training, capacity development, and on the job coaching on relevant Health and Nutrition topics; IMCI, SRH, CMAM, IYCF, and SC operations.
    • Full professional competency in Microsoft Office Suite, (especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
    • Prior work experience in an International non-governmental organization (INGO), National NGOs or government agency at managerial level.
