    Food and Beverage Manager

    Job Summary

    • Our Client in the Hospitality industry is looking for a Food and Beverage Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage department in an upscale hotel.
    • This includes managing a team of supervisors, waitrons, and mixologists, and ensuring exceptional dining experiences for guests. The Food and Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of service, quality, and profitability within the department.

    Responsibilities

    Team Management:

    • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of food and beverage supervisors, waitrons, and mixologists.
    • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the food and beverage team.
    • Conduct regular performance observations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, motivation, and professional development.

    Guest Services:

    • Ensure exceptional dining experiences by maintaining high standards of service and quality.
    • Oversee the smooth operation of the restaurant, bar, and other dining outlets.
    • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively.
    • Interact with guests, build relationships, and gather feedback to continuously improve service.

    Menu Planning and Implementation:

    • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other stakeholders to develop menus that meet guest preferences and align with the hotel's brand and concept.
    • Ensure effective implementation of menus, including training staff on menu offerings and specials.
    • Monitor and evaluate menu performance, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
    • Stay updated on food and beverage trends, incorporating new concepts and innovations into menu planning.

    Operational Management:

    • Manage daily operations of the food and beverage department, including scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.
    • Monitor and analyse departmental performance metrics, such as revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate events, banquets, and special functions.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

    Training and Development:

    • Conduct ongoing training to enhance the skills and knowledge of the food and beverage team.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the department.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in food and beverage
    • operations.
    • Provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with hotel standards, policies, and
    • procedures.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
    • Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Manager or in a similar supervisory role in an upscale hotel or restaurant.
    • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, service standards, and cost control.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests and team members.
    • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading a diverse team.
    • Proficiency in point of sale (POS) systems and other relevant restaurant software.
    • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
    • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as required in the hospitality industry.
