    Field Survey Manager (Short-Term Position)

    Job Description

    • We are looking for talented and committed individuals to fill the role of Field Survey Manager (Short-Term Position). Please note that this is a field-based position.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to
    The Field Manager will be expected to carry out the following activities:

    • Support bench-testing of programmed survey instrument using ODK software (i.e. Survey CTO, Kobo Collect etc.).
    • Support training of the field teams that will conduct the data collection.
    • Manage the field teams during data collection.
    • Monitor compliance with data collection and other field protocols, and overall survey implementation at the assigned location (state or regional level or national level))
    • Provide daily update and weekly activity report on training and data collection to R-DATS research staff.
    • Identify and report any issues or challenges encountered during the survey to R-DATS research staff.
    • Meet regularly for daily/weekly debriefs with the R-DATS data collection team.
    • Maintain confidentiality of study procedures and data in line with R-DATS guideline.
    • Support the delivery of a final, cleaned dataset.
    • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Required Qualifications / Skills

    • A Degree (Master’s preferred) in Public Health, Economics, Demography, Sociology, Statistics, Public Policy, International Development, or related fields. B.Sc. Degree holders with demonstrated field coordination experience will be considered and are therefore encouraged to apply.
    • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset.
    • Experience interacting with partners and other key stakeholders.
    • Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse constituencies.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and at least one of the major local languages in Nigeria.
    • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and enlist support when needed.
    • Strong quantitative research skills. Qualitative research skills are desirable.
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Experience supervising data collection and teams of field workers.
    • Familiarity with SurveyCTO or other related software is desirable.
