    Facilitator

    About the Job

    • We are looking for freelancers to join our pool of facilitators who will deliver the core training programme and other ad-hoc projects as appropriate.
    • Our facilitators have strong technical skills in one or more aspects of Leadership & Management, Finance & Accounting, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Agri-Business & Food Security, Data Science & Project Management, and IT & Software, and are passionate about delivering accessible and innovative learning opportunities.
    • The core short course programme is delivered on Monday through Friday (9:00am – 4:00pm), and Saturdays where necessary.
    • The courses are planned ahead. To be a facilitator in the programme you need to be able to confirm your availability in advance within this schedule.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • The facilitator will obtain, organize, or develop training modules, guides, slides, or course materials for Genius Business School that will help course participants learn essential skills in accordance with relevant best practices in today’s workplace.
    • Provide input in the training strategy and the development of specific training programmes.
    • On scheduled training days, Facilitator will provide in-person facilitation services for in-house and offsite class/training as arranged in collaboration with Genius Business School. The facilitator will complete all facilitation duties, which may include but is not limited to:
      • Prepare for classes with co-facilitator where necessary
      • Coordinate class sessions on each facilitated day
      • Monitor class event and on-site logistics i.e. lecture room audio/visual setup and takedown, distributing course materials and internet access details to attendees, taking attendance, delivering announcement and updates on behalf of Genius Business School as needed.
    • Enrich course presentations using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
    • Create a supportive and conducive adult learning environment using organizational and analytic skills to ensure candidate and business needs are met.
    • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or programme effectiveness.

    Essential qualities

    • Confident and experienced in developing and delivering high-quality training in Leadership & Management, Finance & Accounting, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Agri-Business & Food Security, Data Science & Project Management, and IT & Software or cross-disciplinary trainings in two or more of these areas.
    • A motivated self-starter who will be comfortable working alone with a diverse group of participants.
    • Excellent people skills and the confidence and independence to adapt to different participant’s needs.
    • Creative, with lots of ideas and the persistence to make your class/training sessions a success.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain timely relationships with Genius Business School staff.
    • Ability to develop course modules and resources to a high standard.
    • The facilitator must have a Professional Certificate or a practical experience of not less than 5 years in the areas of interest.
