Cashier at Box and Cedar

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Generating bills for medical services provided to patients and verifying insurance information.
• Accepting payments from patients, their families, or insurance companies for medical services rendered.
• Safely and accurately handling cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
• Addressing patient inquiries related to billing, insurance claims, and payment options.
• Issuing receipts for payments and maintaining accurate records of transactions.
• Verifying patient insurance coverage and processing insurance claims.
• Assisting patients in setting up payment plans and coordinating payment arrangements.
• Handling the payment process during patient discharge.
• Collaborating with various hospital departments, such as the finance or accounting team, to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
• Reconciling daily cash collections with records and reporting any discrepancies.
• Adhering to security protocols and ensuring proper handling and storage of financial information.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• Strong basic math skills are essential for accurately processing financial transactions and managing cash.
• Minimum of 2 years experience 
• HND /  Diploma 
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other hospital-specific software for billing and payment processing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide friendly and helpful customer service to patients and their families.
• The ability to accurately process financial transactions and maintain detailed records.
• Trustworthiness and honesty are crucial attributes when handling financial transactions and sensitive patient information.
• The ability to work collaboratively with other hospital staff and departments.
• Being able to handle various payment scenarios and adapt to different patient situations.
• Adhering to strict confidentiality and privacy regulations related to patient financial information.
