Job description
- Managing multiple constructions projects and represents the AMG’s interest on construction projects.
- Interface with the staff, Business Development Executive, project architects, and engineers related to the initial program development, final program development, planning.
- Development of Final Project Proposals, design, submission, bidding and construction of capital projects, schedule maintenance projects, and special projects.
- Construction Management strategy advice.
- Development of project programs; evaluate and recommend various construction and delivery methods in the construction and/or renovation of existing buildings; assist in the development of the planning and scheduling of construction projects; prepare detailed construction budget estimates and schedules; oversee the performance of all site engineers; ensure that all work is completed according to construction plans, specifications and schedule; and establish and maintain project files.
- Direct and monitor the progress of construction projects; track the delivery of the construction product; participate in all construction meetings; provide direction in the implementation of the construction contract; and direct and monitor compliance with building and safety codes and all other regulations.
- Review engineering and architectural drawings and specifications for accuracy and completeness; monitor progress and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules; track and control construction costs against the project budget; process Requests for Information and Change Orders; maintain meeting notes; participate in claims reviews; and may prepare periodic reports of progress and project status.
- You will provide for overall technical direction for small to large project, thereby conducting site meetings, dealing with staff/contractors work progress, schedule reviews and construction, processing daily/weekly/monthly payment request.
- Ensure all construction related activities performed by the contractor/workmen on site are performed in accordance with design, budget and schedule, meets all accounting requirements and is completed to quality standards.
- Supervision of all sites workers
Desired Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree and at least an Upper credit in a Civil Engineering, Building Construction and any related course.
- A postgraduate degree or certification in project management.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Construction project management
- Certified project manager in the Prince 2 Method.
- Possess working knowledge of the PMP methodology
- Direct work experience in project management capacity
- Wide knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Proficient in project management software, Ms Project
- Proven experience in people management, risk management, change management
- Proven experience in strategic planning
- Excellent communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential.
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
- Capacity to handle pressure.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the construction sites.
