    Car Workshop Manager

    Job Overview

    • As a Car Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the car workshop, ensuring smooth workflow, high-quality service, and customer satisfaction.
    • Your role involves managing a team of mechanics, coordinating repairs and maintenance tasks, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. You will also handle administrative duties such as scheduling, inventory management, and customer relations.

    Key Responsibilities
    Team Management:

    • Supervise a team of mechanics and support staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
    • Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance jobs.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to facilitate their professional development.

    Workflow Coordination:

    • Plan and organize daily workflow, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and customer needs.
    • Coordinate with service advisors to schedule appointments, allocate resources, and ensure efficient utilization of workshop capacity.
    • Monitor repair progress, address any issues or delays, and communicate updates to customers as necessary.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control throughout the repair process.
    • Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed jobs to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
    • Implement corrective actions and process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.

    Inventory Management:

    • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure parts and materials at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards.
    • Keep accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, issuances, and returns.

    Customer Service:

    • Interact with customers to understand their requirements, explain repair options, and provide cost estimates.
    • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally, striving to achieve high levels of satisfaction.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through excellent service and communication.

    Health and Safety Compliance:

    • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace hazards and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
    • Provide training on safety practices and equipment usage to workshop staff, promoting a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential safety risks.

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, preparing invoices, and maintaining records of service history.
    • Utilize computerized systems and software to track job orders, billing, and other workshop operations.
    • Generate reports on key performance indicators, including productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Automotive Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in automotive repair and maintenance, with at least 3 - 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
    • Strong leadership abilities, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Solid understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
    • Proficiency in computerized workshop management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the automotive industry.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to process improvement and quality assurance.
